Give me a break. This is another example of fake liberal controversy. There’s this liberal reaction to something that people make up in their minds. Maybe there is this reaction out there in the media that I just missed but I sure as hell didn’t see excuses for the Iranian fatwa and the extremist who stabbed him. Maher is also correct that if Matt Stone and Trey Parker did “Book of Mohammed” that theatres would absolutely need heightened security. Who told Bill Maher that they wouldn’t?? That’s stupid. Yes of course there are terrorist factions and ideologies who use Islam as justification for violence. Nobody says they don’t. I haven't at all followed the stabbing so have no idea what he's talking about (that pretty much the "entire MSM" is only saying this stabbing event is bad "without looking at the reasons behind it") but that sounds like he is being presumptuous or making a strawman argument himself. Did Carson, Leno, Fallon, Letterman ever have one bit that they did every single night and that was basically it? Could you imagine Carson doing the genie letters bit every single night for 30 years? His show is basically a 2016 CNN panel argument but with the word fu$k being allowed…. And “New Rules.” Maher also knows he’s on Friday nights and people have better things to do so he makes sure he has at least one rant that can be pulled out for right wingers to go viral with online. Yup. New media has really filled the gaps with what we used to like about Maher's shows. There are many podcasts that do breakdown of social, historical and political commentary with comedy and a lack of "filter" far better than Maher now. People like my Dad still love him. It's funny because my dad ever since Maher has gone on this "anti-woke" campaign has upped his leftist b****ing. Every now and then he's like "AOC is ruining Biden's agenda!"
Just because Maher is a bad comedian doesn’t mean he’s dumb. He knew the second Biden got elected he needed to survive by trolling the right into making segments go viral. If you watch his show it’s Bill as usual but he has at least one rant now every episode that is obviously meant to be pulled into a 4 to 6 minute clip meant to go viral. I guess if it gets right wingers to actually watch his full show then it’ll be a good thing cause they’ll get exposed to opinions they’ll never get on Hannity or Bannons podcast. But yeah he knows he’s hanging on by a thread cause his show is nothing special and he knows he’s not that great of a comedian so he had to make a career in politics or sports where it doesn’t soley rely on his comedy… because yeah… he’s not good… and over the years he’s shown that he lives in entitled bubble.
