http://www.azcentral.com/sports/suns/articles/1007amare.html TUCSON - Amaré Stoudemire is out for an indeterminate amount of time and could be facing surgery because of the left knee that has been troubling him this summer. A Tucson specialist examined Stoudemire's knee today after Stoudemire practiced at the morning session. He did not return for the evening practice but remains at the team hotel. The team's medical staff planned to meet later tonight to decide the next step for Stoudemire. "We're going through the evaluation process and we're going to make sure we have all the information before a determination is made to pursue treatment, possible surgery (and) what the safest and best return is for him to come back to basketball," Suns President and General Manager Bryan Colangelo said.
Knee surgery...scary news especially to a player like Amare Stoudemire whose game depends so much on his jumping ability. Now we all know why he has been working on his three points shots.
well........ the link is different now but you pasted all of it... if amare is out... ever better for us. if this is mild to serious surgery...he wont be out cold turkey but phx wont be as big a threat
Great newsx@! I hate top hear a guy is hurt, but considreing it tis comp[etigions! I am glad! Go srockets!
It was rumored that his 3 point stroke (after a summer's hard work) has been so good that he knocked out 20 out of 20 shots in a recent practice from downtown. As such, the knees won't be a big issue for Amare at all as long as he still can run.
guys, dont hate Amare. Overall he's a good kid and very professional. I hope Yao is as initiative as him. Hope he recover soon. I like his game. The league won't be so attractive if great players get injured.
I really don't care if he can hit 40 out of 40 in practice. Amare shooting 3 pointers is good news for the rest of the NBA.
I love watching Amare play. If only every max contract player brought the same passion and effort to each game that Amare does. I hope this isn't serious. Give the 3pt stuff a rest. It won't be a major part of his arsenal this year. What's significant is if he can be deadly hitting from 12-18 feet.
Just read comments about Amare's injury from the main Suns forum. Some of them believe the Suns would still win 50 games without Amare! Can you believe that?
Damn Up, are you drunk right now or is your keyboard busted. I didn't want to say anything, but your post cracked me up.
Don't worry Suns fans. Even if Stoudemire is out Joe Johnson and Quentin Richardson will be able to pick up the... uh... whoops. Um, pick and roll with Kurt Thomas? Maybe posting up with Brian Grant? Uh-oh. Is it too late for Suns fans to return their season tickets?
Knee surgery - that wouldn't be good for him. Antonio McDyess used to be a freaking athletic beast as well.
As much as I like Yao and enjoy this semi-rivalry with Amare, you never like seeing this. Amare can be a really special player in this league. I hope he comes back at full-strength.
What a timing for signing a max contract??? Anyways, history has shown many people would slack off once they got a big contract. I am not saying Amare is the kind. But there are plenty people do that. The Rockets fans can feel good because Yao would never be like that.
