I stumbled across this white supremacy forum "www.stormfront" while I was doing some research. I was struck by the normalcy of the members, how they seemed like your average neighbour or the guy next to you at work. So what I wanted to know was, how common are these people? How prevalent are these people among us? The assumption I've always made was that these appalling notions of racial paranoia and aggression were very much a issue of the 60's. Sure, you'll encounter racism in the odd misguided act of anger but how in the world are people still so entrenched in the backward thinking?
I don't think it's a big deal. Every "normal" person I'm sure have some sort of taste or ideology that doesn't confirm with society. It's just that with the internet, we can voice our thoughts quite easily behind anonymity.
