ok, really not only is it ridiculous to trade a guy that is arguably the best PG in the West that you most likely wont be getting equal value in return for, it is not plausible. The only players to be traded in the last year of their deals are cap fillers like Don McLean, the guy the Rocks got in the Francis trade, add the fact of all the games he missed last season for medical reasons and no team would give up much for Francis at all. A lot of people on the board have asked if Steve is so loyal why hasn’t he sighed already, its because he cant because the rockets cant offer it. They have to wait till a certain date where the league can establish the cap, if you remember last summer the rocks called Hakeem in the middle of the night when the clock hit 12 to get him to resign in like July. The only time teams are willing to take that chance and possibly give up something significant is when they know they have to, right before the trade deadline, (Mutombo trade) and once we sign Stevie that will make said scenario highly unlikely.

if we can get a dominant point guard like andre miller who has proven that he can lead his team to the playoffs, or a nba superstar like jason williams then we should definitely look into it.

seriously though, you're right, we can't get equal value for steve and those who want to trade him will be sorry once he's gone.

    the grass is always greener...
