please guys, I know everybody is frustrated and angry about our terrible performance in the game against Utah (I really cant describe how frustrated I am right now even after 2 days of the stupid game).. I just had enough with all the r****ded threads blaming the loss on coaching or on single players ESPECIALLY TMAC.. I mean, what's wrong with you people ?? did y'all forget all the stuff Tracy did for us in 04-05.. did y'all forget about 13 in 35? did ya'll forget the game winning shot against Dallas?? did y'all forget his performance in the playoffs?? did y'all forget the "Tmac just sucked gravity, right out of the building!!"? .. stop whining about his performance in that single stupid season opening game and his first regular season game after coming back from the r****ded back injury.. I am starting to doubt H-town's fans.. it seems like when we are doing well, everybody jumps on the bandwagon and wears his T-mac jersey, and when we lose a single game, they throw it in the closet and start b!t2#ing about T-mac.. saying "oh, we should've kept Franchise".. "oh, T-mac sucks, waive him" .. I've had a guy in another thread say (not letter for letter quotation) "we lost the game because your boy T-mac kept jacking up bad shots and not giving the ball to Yao".. well, at first, I thought T-mac did suck and I was really frustrated that my favorite player didn't play well, but thanks to durvasa, who provided a great website, I found out that T-mac actually had an "alright" game , or more like , a GOOD game.. everybody was b!%C*ing about his "terrible shooting percentage", well, if u look at the stats below, you're gonna find out that his poor percentage resulted from the desperation shots he took in the 4th quarter when nobody was hitting his shot and he had to do something, that's not mentioning that he played 40 minutes and fatigue plays a big role in the first game back after back injury ... Min FG FG3 FT Reb Ast Blk Stl TO PF Pts hv prod eff +/- Tracy McGrady 41.5 8-24 1-4 8-13 1-5 9 0 3 1 1 25 16 .99 20 -2 now by quarter, his stats look like this: 1 12:00 12.0 2-6 0-0 3-7 0-1 1 0 0 1 0 7 1 .67 0 -9 2 8:07 8.1 3-5 0-0 4-5 0-0 3 0 1 0 0 10 4 1.72 11 2 3 12:00 7.5 2-5 1-1 0-0 1-2 2 0 1 0 0 5 5 1.34 7 1 3 1:53 1.9 0-1 0-0 0-0 0-0 2 0 0 0 0 0 2 1.05 1 1 4 12:00 12.0 1-7 0-3 1-1 0-2 1 0 1 0 1 3 4 .58 1 3 http://popcornmachine.net/cgi-bin/boxscore.cgi?date=20061101&game=HOUUTH now if you analyze this data, u can find out that T-mac shot around 45% in the first 3 quarters (7-16)..which is not bad.. but after things got all messed up and the game seemed gone, T-mac started taking tuff (bad) shots because everybody expects him to do so.. too bad he was already fatigued and not perfectly in shape, so he shot a miserable 1-8 in the last 2 minutes of 3rd quarter and the whole 4th quarter.. so please, if u want to complain about T-mac and announce that he is done and we should get rid of him, consider your decision because when we are in the playoffs and T-mac is carrying us to wins, your signature will BECOME " T-mac rocks, he is my favorite player", and you will make a fool of yourself.. and I promise you I will keep track of all your r****ded posts and I will start a thread in late June titled "r****ded posts after game 1 vs. Utah" .. and guess what, everybody will be laughing at your smart posts..
amen to that. geez just after one game ppl wanted to cut his head off or something. anyways, tmac didn't do hot, and i honestly think he's still knockin some of the rust he built up in the offseason so just give him some friggin time. oh, and id never put his jersey in the back of my closet. ill be wearing his jersey on saturday where he'll tear dallas apart with his 30+ points performance.
ok, take a deep breath, go the Clutchfans.com , browse through the threads, read some posts in the "T-mac should take a backseat" thread, try to analyze it.. think about it for a couple minutes, post "oh my bad, I haven't read the board in a while!"
People pay you that much of money because you are a person who can make a difference in crunch time. You got to play as a team if you want to win the game. One person takes 24 or even more shots one game and seemingly gets good stats but the team loses. Then something is wrong. They are not playing as a team. If you need 30 shots to make 30 points, then you are not a true star.
who says take a seat back = trade him? his fg% was a miserable 8 for 24 or 33%.. is to have a better shot selection too much to ask?
ironically the thread starter started the thread in hopes the whining would stop and instead it creates more whining and this thread will be just like the "tmac should take a backseat" thread
Superstar suppose to lead the team in the clutch time, especially in the 4th. I really don't see you have good logic here. TMAC had bad game. He only took jumpers. But our bench also sucked! No excuse for TMAC to shoot 1-8 in last 14 mins. Same to YAO: 9 rbsand two stupid early fouls
Yao's fouls were problems. But he made stupid turnovers at clutch time. Fisher stole balls from Yao twice at clutch time.
Stupid thread. At least the "T-mac should take a back seat" thread started out with a good analysis of team strategy and execution, or lackthereof, before it got hijacked. This threads just whining from the get-go. But in away, it's so typical of GARM threads the past couple days.
I found the solution Rocketsmac. I will stay out of the forum until all the knives are put away. Do not operate machinery while losing.
How about YAO? Team pays him loads of money and hopes him to make a difference at clutch time. And what did he do then? Two stupid turnovers at clutchtime, and let Fisher stole his ball twice when we wanted him to score.
Tmac was the man. However people do get old/ or injured. Look at TD. How can I say about him? He was such a great player, maybe one of the greatest player all time. Look what LB did to him tonight if you happen to watch the game. LJ did exactly same thing to TD as Tmac did to Bradley two years ago. Time change everything.
well you are right, but let me clarify something here, lets start out with definition of "clutch time" CLUTCH TIME- the time in the end of a CLOSE game (close is a key word) where superstars or "clutch players" have to step up.. now if you are saying that the desperation shots that he took in the beginning of 4th quarter when we were down by double digit and the last 3 shots that he took when we had apparently NO HOPE when Deron Williams drove twice to the basket with nobody stopping .. if you consider these shots "clutch time" shots, you are a little mistaken..
I dont quite get it ... can you elaborate ?? I dont really remember your stance, were u one of the guys in that r****ded thread ?? the only one that I can remember in compucomp (spelling?)
Hopefully Game 1 is just a warm-up game for T-Mac. Most people are just worried that his misdeeds in that game will carry on for the entire season, and that it's somehow related to his chronic health problems.
