Probably because the national media has been consistently badgering Francis for ignoring Yao, even if it hasn't been much of a problem this year. Either that, or Stu Jackson REALLY hate Francis.

As long as Stu Jackson is making these decisions, Stevie will never get picked.

it does seem very odd, that not only would he not already be selected, but that he again would not even be mentioned.
bibby was already on the team and the perception is that he's so great because he's been so "clutch" in the postseason, but he and francis of course have the same # of finals appearances and rings - despite the fact that bibby has played with the most talented team for the last three years.

    francis reg season - 16.6ppg, 5.5 rpg, 6.2 ast
    bibby reg season - 18.4, 3.4, 5.4

    francis post season - 19.2, 8.4, 7.6
    bibby post season - 20.0, 4.2, 7.0

simply put - francis should be considered, mentioned.

i can't believe anyone could get away with what Stu Jackson has. Francis has come out on numerous occasions basically begging to play on the olympic team. How many allstars do you see doing that, not very many. It's ridiculous to put a rookie like Wade on the team over a 3 time allstar who clearly is the better player.

    ridiculous

Stu Jackson's eating some bitter, bitter grapes. What an a**hole! This kid would bring a lot of fun and infectious energy to the olympics and we all know Steve would LOVE to go.

...not to mention he STARTED IN THE ALLSTAR GAME THE PAST 2 SEASONS!!!

For someone to get that much love from the fans and still go unrecognized by the leauge is REDICULOUS!

This has gotten absolutely out of hand. The Olympic team has gone form the "Dream Team" to the 2004 Rookie All-Star game.

Its one thing that you give a nod to another of equal status, although Francis is more of a crowb pleaser than Bibby... its another thing to totally be bias and discriminate... Yes Francis is a jacka$$ for what he did, this is not a pick-up during recess, its an OLYMPIC organization, Stu needs to act like an adult and put his ego aside....

No wonder the Vancouvor(sp) Grizzles were a sh1tty franchise... Then West stepped in and show the difference btw night and day..

the 2003/2004 season suggests that Steve Francis isnt good enough ffor the US Olympic Team.

Then it also suggests that Bibby and Wade are both also not good enough for the olympic team.

Only one superstar (Tim Duncan) is determined to play for his country, but he is born out of U.S. land. What an irony!

Take a look at Asia and Europe, their players usually put national team play at the prioirty.

    Again,

This tells us EXACTLY how Francis is thought of by people in the know.

    Sad

So sad that you felt the need to comment twice. I guess you can't pass up the chance to get in a free shot, just like francis, hardy har har har.

No, just that not everyone reads both sections, so they are two different threads.

But thanks Sam for your genuine uplifting thoughts on this issue, glad you were able to put them down in here for all to see.

Oh wait, you didn't do that.....

    Well...then....no thanks....

Steve Francis made his bed on draft day. Now he must lie in it.

I feel no sympathy at all for Francis. Though I don't particularly agree with what Jackson may be doing, I certainly find it well within his rights.

Maybe I can just make an inane comment or two and be done with it.

    Sad.

Isn't Jackson's duty to pick the best players to represent our country? I guess its his right to pick lesser players due to a childish grudge he is still holding against Francis.
