If the team doesn't quit, they can make the playoffs. Denver has a tough close to the season and we're already 3 up on them. The problem is say we make it in as an 8th seed. We play either L.A. or San Antonio in Round 1. We're gonna get our asses handed to us by either team if Yao's out.
with no dominant center we are in serious trouble. i bet we miss the playoffs now. I hope i am wrong but without yao out we are a one woman show . its time for tracy to turn into supermac and show why he is a superstar in this league.
we just lost half our defense and one third of our offense in Yao. If we can make the playoffs, Adelman will be COY.
We will make the playoffs and the Rockets will band together and make us proud because they are professionals, have a lot of chemistry, and have pride. Unfortunately, pride does not win championships.
I chose finally make it past the first round because that's been my prediction since before the season started. Last year I was shocked when they didn't advance. Unfortunately, this year... after Yao's injury... I wouldn't be surprised considering how tough the West is. I still believe they might be able to make it to the 2nd with T-Mac taking it to that other level in the playoffs.
If the Rockets get a backup big 4/5, I still think they can make the playoffs. Without Yao, the Rockets front court is just too small.
frankly, at this point, i probably don't even care if they make the playoffs. they'll just be bounced in the first round.
The big thing the Rockets have talked about during this streak is their confidence. I think we still have the players to play well down the stretch and make the playoffs. But if the confidence goes down the drain, forget it.
Someone needs to make a thread on the draft. Might as well start talking about the future. It would be great if the Rockets had one of those fairy tale Hoosier moments, but the NBA isn't a Hollywood movie.
Personally, I don't think the season is over. We can do something this year thanks to our new athleticism that we couldn't last year: we can run, and run successfully. Our coach knows how to run that kind of ball, and we have the athleticism and shooters to do it. We have good perimeter defenders, and although we may be lacking in the post - it should be enough to get us into the playoffs. Hopefully Yao will be back in time for the playoffs.
I'm Still looking forward to that 17th Rockets victory in a row against Dallas. Landry and Scola are about to shock the league.
I say we get past the first round if we get a favorable match up, also expect a lot of "we miss the playoffs" from the ***´s. I hope they stay away of the forum while Yao is injured.
T-Mac is going to have to play out of his mind. Hopefully the team steps up and lets him save some energy for the playoffs, because God knows we're going to need a Jordan-like effort from him to win any game.
I believe. We have solid pieces for playing small ball. The Rox are gonna surprise some people if they get to the playoffs. Cmon Rox!!!
