I found this on espn http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/index . Steve Francis is 5th in the NBA in technicals. I cant really remember when he got all these techs. Do you think this is good for the team, getting them fired up? I know that he is a class guy and definitely not one of NBA's bad boys. Francis plays with a lot of heart. In my opinion, if the game is not late and on the line, T up Stevie and get your teamates pumped up. Just dont get ejected
I usually associate T's with not having things going your way. You b**** and cry, and get a T. If anything I think the other team will feed off of it, unless the T is called for taunting, or something like that. But arguing with refs, or players, to the point of getting a T, isn't beneficial to the team, imo.
Good point. I dont think anybody in the NBA should blabber their mouth about a bad call, but of course its goin to happen. Steve doesnt usually whine about calls though, justs gets into little scuffles like he did with Marbitchy. That I think would fire up a team.
He'll learn later how to control himself. The key is that he gets it out once, and doesn't get the 2nd technical. Chris Webber was a hot head. So was R. Wallace. But, both of them have been able to calm themselves and NOT get kicked out of the game. Webber is a master of this now. He'll might get one tech, and then he wont say one more thing the rest of the game. In fact, he starts to play better after he gets a tech. Payton does this too.
Wallace went on fire against the Rockets after he got a technical. Now he's been suspended for 7 games! He has been getting less technicals this season, though.
