    Steve: 7 assists 2 turnovers.

Stockton (aka, Andre Miller or Mark Jackson): 1 assist , 3 turnovers. Time for Steve haters and Yao fans to curse and cry.

I might take Stockton in his prime over Francis... so please don't compare him too much w/Andre Miller, because I wouldn't want Miller in a million years over Francis (get him to replace Mobley, and that's a different story...).

To be honest, I don't really get the Miller/Stockton comparisons. I'm not convinced that Miller is better than Stockton right now. Miller doesn't have remotely as good of a jump shot... and while his court vision is good... it seems good in a "normal" way. He's more like Terrell Brandon than Stockton in that respect...

Regardless of whether you like Stockton... he had an instinctive feel for the PG position that none of the younger guards possess, today. I wonder if we're ever going to see another Magic or Stockton... because none of the current guards have "it" to the same extent at the 1... and it does them a disservice to compare people like Andre Miller ot them.

First, why Yao lovers = Steve haters?

Second, Andre Miller or Mark Jackson = John Stockton?

Third, the current Francis > Stockton? Yes for this 40 year old version. But have you ever watched Stockton in his prime? Even we hate him and his Jazz. Stockton is Stockton. He's not the all-time assist leader and one of the greatest 50 players for no reason.

Miller is not better than Stockton now, or ever...

I like AM's game, but Stockton is Stockton

I would take Franchise all day long if I was creating a new team...

    hmmm, can you say Olympics...

    My thoughts exactly.

Yao lovers are Stevie haters? Some of the Yao fans are way too harsh on the rest of the rockets, but i think most like myself recognize that Steve Francis is one of the top players in the league and love his game.

Andre Miller should not be compared to Stockton at this point. Miller is not playing well this year and hasn't led the Clippers to anything.

theres's no question that stockton in his prime is a lot better than francis. dunking, shooting and scoring are the only things francis is better than stockton. but, stockton is head-and-shoulder above francis as a defensive player and floor general running the offense.

    at the present moment.

how old is john stockton??? 41 or 40? if steve francis DIDN'T outplay a 40-year old man, he shouldn't be called an all-star because stockton wasn't an all-star this year. i'm not defending dirty stockton, but the old guy can still play well. in the first game after the break against houston, he scored 18 points, dished out 11 assists, and his team won. francis played great on the offensive end, but not on the defensive end.

uhh.....I didn't see the first Jazz game of the back-to-back, but didn't Stockton have 18pts(7-13)/11 assists/9 boards?

Anyway, comparing either Miller or Franchise to him is an insult.
