End of the year coming up. Most franchise players step up their games. Especially when making the playoffs are at stake. Well are little Franchise player has done absolutely nothing the last ten games or so:

Averaging 14.9 pts, 6.3 reb, and 5 ast while shooting a whopping 39% from the field!

Thats not it. Check out the averages for the oppenent point guards for the same amount of games:

Averaging 14.2 pts, 3.5 reb, and 4 ast while shooting 47% on Francis's lazy ass.

They average almost the same number of points, while shooting much much better from the field and average just one less assist.

So exactly what positives does Francis bring to the game?

Defense? - Thats freakin hilarious. Francis's idea of defense is to stand as far away from the opponent pg's and dare them to shoot wide open jumpers all day long. His defense against Damon Stoudamire is the worst thing I have ever seen.

Leadership? - Yeah right! The guy couldn't lead the US army to victory over Iraq.

Points? - Maybe, but its negated by his atrocious defense on opposing point guards.

Passing? - You have a better chance of getting Eddie Griffin to pass a blunt.

I hate Marbury as much as anyone, but the dude was right. He is the real All-Star. Francis better be glad that he is popular, cause he sure aint no All-Star material.

    Marbury the last ten games:

Averaging 21 pts, 3.9 reb, and 8.7 ast while shooting 46% from the field.

Way to go Stevie boy! Is it all Steve's fault? Hell no. Cuttino is suppose to be a leader as well and he hasn't manage to do crap either. Eddie Griffin? The guy is 20! Yao Ming is a rookie. Glen, Maurice and Pose have actually done alright. None of the other things matter though. Who has gotten the $90 MILLION contract? Stevie Franchise!

The guy seriously needs a new nickname. Any ideas?

Any chance of Francis pulling a Bobby Knight with his contract?

You're only as good as your best player.

When Mr. Mean in charge of the team, the one hurt most is Steve Francis and YaoMing.

    Just look at their numbers!!!

Well Mo Taylor, Posey, and Rice are actually doing good. But Rice makes as much as Jason Kidd...so I'm not that happy about it. Mo Taylor is overpaid too but has not been doing too well either. Posey is all right. Deserves his salary.

BUT FRANCIS?!? He is not a leader. We are like a light Blazers. We have mar1juana guys. We have ex-Blazers. We have one of the top 5 guys in technicals. We have many trashtalkers. We have a cocky guy.

Francis is a leader. But not a great one.

Marbury has been doing a much better job. MUCH. Just watch them. They're beating the Dallas Mavericks right now. Did we ever do that?

Francis and Mobley cannot lead this team. But neither can Yao. He will never change his attitude. He is too nice and shy. He's not gonna stand up.

Rice can't lead anything. He's not that great of a mentor. He's our only veteran.

    Steve has been choking...

Don't like it. I give up.

R0ckets03, you're lucky that you registered in 1999 otherwise you would be labled as a Yao-only fan and Steve hater straight away for starting a thread bashing Francis ike that. :p

Plenty of blame to go around.

    Last 2 (crucial) games:

    Mobley: 6-23 (26%)
    Griffin: 3-13 (23%)
    Yao: 5-22 (22.7%)
    Francis: 7-34 (20.6%)
    Norris: 1-7 (14%)

That's a minimum of 5 guys stinking up the joint.

Almost everyone in this board has spent so much energy in this season and if this is how we get repayed then there is nothing else i can do about it

If Steve Francis isn't going to change his ways, then I agree be more like Marbury. Cause Marbury can flat out dominate against any team.

However, for all of Marbury's advantages his style of play will never win championships cause he is not a team player. Think about how many championships KG and Marbury would have if Marbury could have played second fiddle to KG.

Having said all of this, I'm not sure if Francis could actually dominate like Marbury.

So much for Francis becoming a leader, after he got his fat contract.

I think you don't know that KG and Webber made playoffs every season bar their rookie seasons, Robinson too except his injuried season and Duncan never missed at all so far in his career.

And how many years after are still considered "early" by you? How old is still considered "young" by you?

i was just trying to be a little optimistic.. defend francis a little bit..

    =P

i'm equally disappointed with francis' play... i think if the rox want to become great.. i would take some risks.. and make some big moves.. not STUPID moves.. but some big ones...

i'm sad to say.. im not even convinced yao ming will ever be DA MAN

The only times you'll see the words "defend" and "Francis" together.

ivanyy2000 - What does Larry Smith's coaching have to do with the way Francis has shot the ball? Not that I am defending Larry Bozo Smith. A little kid can come up with better substitution patters then Mr. Dumb Ass.

KeepJuaqin - Oh I am going to the game alright. I am a dumb ass season ticket holder. Every single person who has season tix to Rockets game is a dumb ass in my eyes. Unless they are a fan of the 28 other teams. I'll be a dumb ass next year too. But I am not one of those passive ass fans who will sit there quitely while the Rockets put out one pathetic effort after another. I spend thousands of dollars every year and the least I expect is an effort of some kind.

I dont think many people would be mad if the Rockets lost while displaying any kind of urgency or effort. But the way the Rockets lose is an embarassment to James Naismith.

Newgirl - You are right. The blame should go on the entire freakin team, but at the end there is only one guy getting paid $90,000,000!!!!!!!! There is only one guy who is called the "Franchise".

Everyone knows I love Cuttino more then anyone on this team, but yeah he has not stepped up to the plate either. Score 30-40 points or something. Show some pride or guts. These Rockets are the biggets bunch of spineless gutless basketball players to ever walk the face of this earth.

And Francis is not young anymore. The dude is 26!!! Kobe and Tmac are younger. Young is Eddie Griffin, Amare, Eddie Curry, etc.
