I came up with this last night, it may be a bit lame but still: The Hurricane (Francis-Frances, get it?)
Sure. Frances fits him and Hurricane does, too. He took it all when he came through, and left a trace.
I assume the local sportswriters are just waiting for his first big game so that the can put Hurricane Francis in their headlines. Though, it might be a littler bitter to the family and friends of the dozen or so people killed by the storm. I don't think Stevie Franchise is ever leaving him though.
He'll still be Steve Franchise. As newspapers have shown thoroughly, they just love puns. Seriously, try opening up the sports section without finding puns in the headlines.
I heard on 610 that they are calling him The Magician down there right now. That's funnier than some of these made up names.
The Magician? In reference to what? The ball moving mysteriously without him aka 'there's nothing in my hands' trick off his foot? The now you see it "watch me dive into a crowd of bodies with the ball", now you don't "as you can see the ball has vanished and re-appeared in the opponents hands" disappearing act? The inexplicable hand is quicker than the mind dribbling? Or the confuzzling "crossover" that sometimes even fools the performer? Or.. is it just in reference to him being an Orlando Magic?
I think we're gonna see a lot of threads like these regarding our old friend now residing in Orlando but hahaha, it's good to see that the Steve disdain is still alive and well. I'm kinda surprised none of the Steve jockers have come to the rescue yet. Imagine if the guy ever came back to Houston, man, people would probably have heart attacks from being so angry.
I'm not defending his weakness on the court, but don't be too critical to him. At least he's a kind guy in life(according to what Yao said), and shown his heart when playing for Rox. I just don't understand why someone always tending to denigrate those former players(both Francis and Cat) by his/her own ego without facts to base on. As his fan, I'd wish him also Cat happiness and success in Orlando...
