Steve was just interviewed on ESPN about the last Lakers game.

Steve said that he got his 44 points WITHIN THE FLOW OF THE OFFENSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What an idiot!! This is just further indication of how stupid he is and how he does not "get it".

He again referred to the youth of the team as a reason for not playing well!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On not getting Yao the ball enough:

"We try and get the ball as much as possible" and then said: "We're trying to get the ball to him on every play" This is just pure unadulterated Bullsh*t!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Talk about denial!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now I know how much of the problem is Steve!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Steve slams Rice?

Steve was just interviewed on ESPN during a replay of the Shaq vs. Yao Ming game 1 and the question came up about him not getting Yao Ming enough touches and his response was:

"anyone saying that we don't get the ball enough to Yao is either a 3 point shooter that doesn't get much playing time or some one that has not played point guard in today's NBA"

    OUCH!

That 3 point shooter wouldn't be named Glen Rice would it?

Well 2 key pieces of our time are young (eddie and yao) and that's who steve mentioned in particular. It did seem like a valid responce considering the question. But he also could of said something about himself to shoulder the blame.

no way he could be talking about Rice. Rice has not once said we don't give Yao the ball enough; he just said we don't move it around enough. I have to measure that against the "Give Yao the Damn Ball" crowd in the media before I believe Steve openly dissed Glen Rice.

    I don't buy it.

I think it was an analyst critique, too. Probably Tim Legler.

btw: Steve's statement seems like a forced diss trying way too hard to nail someone, as it doesn't make a whole helluvalot of bball sense to me that only 3pt shooter or non contemporary PGs would say it.

kinda have to agree. Greg Anthony asked Steve what they have to do to take it to the next level, and Steve said, "consistency...Yao and Eddie are both very young blah blah." They way he said it seem to imply that the main reason we were not winning consistently was because Yao and Eddie are young and inexperienced. It'd be nice for him to shoulder a little more responsibilty when things arent going well.

if, the 3pt shooter part was a dis on Legler,

does it matter who is point out? the point is steve francis will continue to not pass yao the ball because he thinks yao, at 22, is not ready, and that's Bullsh*t because he's just to be the man. since yao came and started playing well, nobody calls him franchise anymore. i bet he doesn't like that. will he turn into kobe, who is a supporting star or stephon marbury, who is the star of a losing team?
