If teams are working on a deal before the deadline ends, they can continue to work on it and get it done even after the deadline hits.

Yea, today was THE craziest trade deadline I have ever witnessed. None ever live up to the hype or the abundance of rumors out there leading up to that day. Man, the "experts" were all saying today would be quiet due to so many trades that had already gone down this season and then BAM, trade after trade after trade.

What is interesting is the teams (Portland, Toronto, Minny) who were rumored the most about making moves, made none at all.

I WAS certainly fun and a good day to play hooky. :)

Why do they even call it a deadline?

Good for Steve, I hope he gets a shot at another ring. And some credit to the Bobcats organization for being that classy (moving him simply so that he could be on a contender).

What a great time to be a Heat fan. Exciting team, contenders in the East, and Heat legends Steve Smith and Alonzo Mourning come back into the fold. I would be seriously pumped if I were a fan.
