    Ok.

Are we going to crucify the guy?

He didn't get to the Finals. That should be heartbreaking enough.

So what was he supposed to say? That they might lose? He's the leader of Suns and trying to motivate the team.

He scored 21 points with 8-11 shooting and 9 assists. The loss was not on him, rather I would put the blame on Amare.

LOL If your the leader of the team, will you say, oh we're gonna lose game 6 and give up hope  ? Nash saying they will win in game 6 is to motivate his team. Its heartbreaking that he didn't make it to the finals and he shows some true passion for the game when he cried in that post game interview. I just hope the guy has some success before he retires.

The leader cannot say "might;" rather, he needs to say "must."

The media, loving controversy as usual, interprets this as a guarantee.

"We must win game 6 to send the game to a final clincher."

Media hears "Player A is guaranteeing a victory! Let's post this news all over the opposing teams TV station to get things fired up!

Without controversy, media just wouldn't have much to talk about.

no, i think he actually thought they could beat the lakers (with what happened in game 5). it wasn't showing leadership or anything. i really think he thought his team could beat the lakers in game 6.

If tmac would have said that, people would have laughed.

If Brandon roy would have said that, people would have left it alone. Why? Because Brandon isn't a diva. You won't find that guy saying BYNUM SUCKS to a couple of teenager outside the arcades.

Rimrocker is trying to make it a canadian thing. :p

I really thought this team could pull it off, and at least take the Lakers to 7.

Honestly, if the Suns would have taken game 5, there is no doubt in my mind they would win game 6.

Coming back from like 20 down + Home court for game 6 + The Big Mo = Victory.

But with that said, Nash said this when they were down 3-2. If Nash said we're going to really get back into this series and / or force a game 7 if they were down 3-0, then maybe I would show this expression:

Although Nash has never won the championship, he does have the heart of a champion. During this playoffs, he is 36 years old. And, last year the suns didn't make the playoffs. But, he has never stopped believing and fighting for his dream. His eye was hurt and nose was broken, but he never back down! He is a true warrior!

He said what any leader would. Big deal.

Also what's with this lazy-ass "highlight a line in a random google search" bs? I too, can excel at such r****dedness. Behold:

I think it was both. He believed what he said and wanted to make sure all his teammates bought into it.

At least Nash didn't say "Is good to be in the Finals!" when the series tied at 2-2.

The OP should lose his/her privileges to start threads.

The few he/she has started are pure garbage.

I feel bad for Nash. I always find myself rooting for the guy. Only player to win the mvp and not go to the finals and he won it twice

On a side I also feel bad for alvin gentry. Watching his team play damn near perfect defense on kobe just to watch evey impossible shot he threw up go in and get a sympathic pat on the back from him to add insult to injury. I hate to say it but I haven't seen a game taken over like that by one person since jordan. It didn't matter how perfect that teams D was. Tonight he made it seem easy.

    Yeah, no kidding.

I mean, some people don't even get injuries to the face in boxing / UFC, etc. and here Nash is, with a healed broken nose (that was broken again in this year's 'offs) and a busted up area-around-the-eye.

    True Warrior, indeed.

If you're a member of any team, leader or not, of course your response would be "my team's going to win." Nash would say that, Amundson would say that, Dragic would say that while breaking your ankles and draining a 3 in your face.

Only 1 man in the collective history of sports would say that his team was not going to win in the middle of a series. And he's not Houston's problem anymore.
