I'll be the first to admit that before we got Steve Francis, and I saw him Pout with that Grizzly hat on I thought he was an ungrateful punk that doesn't have the class to be a Rocket. But then he's come here and embraced the city and the city's embraced him. I've met him a few times but this was definitely the most personal experience: I went to the Galleria on Sunday and was in Neiman Marcus.....I was in the shoe area and he just sat down next to me with some girl. Steve Francis just sat down next to me in a grey sweatsuit and a do-rag on his head. I didn't even recognize him at first because he looked big. First off, he is not skinny, the man is solid, I saw his forearms and they were bulging. He is at least 6'2 - 6'3 and the girl was very nice to look at. She may have been from Destiny's Child..she looked familiar and she was polite saying excuse me a few times when they were trying on shoes (RIGHT NEXT TO ME). He liked the shoes I was trying on and told me so...and was really nice joking with people and smiling. I asked him " Is this a little fun after dropping 35, 10 and 4 on the Cavs" and he just smiled and put his hand on my shoulder. Then he bought 3 pairs of Prada Shoes and I saw two Prada suits he bought. Very Quality stuff. Anyway Really nice guy and a complete class act. An older guy and his wife were talking with him about the playoffs and he sat there giddy talking about it. Imagine the sight of a 22 year old black man in a do-rag and sweats talking to a white old man and women in the middle of Neiman Marcus and getting excited talking about basketball. I think its wonderful how something like the sport of basketball can bring people together or allow people to get a glimpse of others that they would ordinarily never meet. He was joking with everyone and smiling like a kid in a candy store. I saw no look of arrogance even when a group of kids began to follow him everywhere. I think he genuinely is a nice guy....this was away from the cameras...the NBA public relations machine...just being in the presence of a guy who loves a sport more than I ever could and excels at it in a town where he's inspiring the rest of us and bringing people together. I also said Webber would be a nice addition to the Rockets, his eyes lit up and he said he's working on it hard. That was the Highlight of the conversation. I could tell Francis wants Webber here bad. They play together in the summers and love each others games from what I've read. Its great to be a Rocket fan. ------------------

Horry25, Just the type of comment I would expect from an idiot such as yourself. I post here occasionally and have been watching the Rockets for years, I come here for opinions on the Rockets and to post my opinions because I love basketball and our team. You seem to thrive on getting a reaction from people. Meaning maybe your mommy and daddy haven't been paying enough attention to you lately....i'm sorry. Try going out and making some friends you loser. Go talk to kids instead of trying to create reactions from your ignorance online. And by the way you're damn lucky this is a BBS and not a pickup basketball game or i'd kick your little a$$. If you feel passionately about something, then by all means post it. But another thing I am getting sick of besides idiots like Horry 25 is the guys that have been posting for a while clogging up every post with idiotic remarks about "free post" and such. I give an opinion or a story when I feel its relevant and have been watching CC.net for years. Is there some grand prize to having more posts that i don't know about besides the title of loser with no other aspirations? By no means do I mean not posting every topic if you have something to say....but at least let it be relevant. I'm getting a bit annoyed at screening through idiots saying "oh wow a free post" or a little more discreetly. Quality my friends, not Quantity is better... ------------------
