I think it's shameful that people have come out so extremley against Steve for loving OUR Houston Rockets.

What happened to all of our talk that he was the best point guard in the league behind Kidd!! What happened to all of our B!tch!ing that the national media ignored him? What happened to all of our B!tch!ing that the Olympic committe ignored him?

I still think Steve is a great player. His talents cannot be denied. He showed in the playoffs what type of difference he can be in a game. Even with Yao in the game.

Maybe it was the Van Gundy system that was holding him back. Maybe it was his willingness to pass the ball more and shoot less that took him out of synch.

But I do know that it is not a crime to say that he loves Houston and he wanted to finish his career here. We should all be praising his quality of loyalty. And from what I saw this past season, he did defer much of his game to Yao; Steve is a team player, but he has got to be allowed to play without a chain on his ankle like in the Van Gundy system.

If this trade still fell through, we should cheer more for Steve than we've done before. Because he is proving to us that he bleeds Rocket Red.

And for those bashing Steve, get over it. Because I'll vote for him to be the All-Star starter again and again next year and the next. Be it if he's here or Orlando or anywhere else!!!!

Steve is a very talented athlete with no brains (terrible decision making) I will still root for him only if he doesnt mess up this trade.) I can root for him w/orlando where his turnover prone self can only impact orlando's team

If Steve, Cat and Cato end up staying in Orlando, they will instantly be my 2nd fav team.

Maybe ahead of the Rudy coached Lakers.

Good post. Boy all these good Francis post are coming from everywhere. Steve will always be a Rocket as far as im concern and Mcgrady can average 50 a night and I still won't like him or pull for him like Steve or Cat.

Continue to dream that. Once he moves to Orlando, start doing your hurrahs at the Orlando BBS. Or whereever else they send his ass.

Hey, anyone know who the hell the coach for Orlando is? I'll google it later if no one knows.

Ok. nevermind, I found it. It's Johnny Davis.

So the next question is, WTF is Johnny Davis? How will he be able to coach Francis?

Could the posters on this site be any more overly dramatic about Steve?

One minute, its: Steve is my hero. I love him so much. I would die for him. Please God don’t take this saint away from us.

The next its: Steve is the devil. I hope he burns in hell.

He’s just a basketball player. Why are people getting so carried away, acting like they’re losing a family member?

I’m quite sure that in a month’s time once Steve is officially an Orlando Magic player, he will not give Houston a second thought. He will be completely focused on Orlando and the Rockets will be the furthest thing from his mind.

Who his coach is is irrelevant. Francis is uncoachable. "I will play how i want to play and he will coach how he wants to coach" Quote from Steve Francis talking about JVG this past season

Exactly. Dream was my favorite player of all time, but I wasn't crying when we traded him, and I would never confuse him for being a hero. SF even less so.

Karla does = the devil though.

Geez, we really needed another new thread on this again. I'll cheer for Orlando because Cat's going to be on it.

emotions are still high so we are very polarized on this subject.

ultimately, francis will be remembered as a superfreak athlete that never quite fulfilled his potential here. He teased us with his gifts and frustrated us with his mental limitations.

as time passes, people will recognize that SF is not a bad person. He is not smart and spoke emotionally about the trade. but that's what he is on the court as well. He plays with heart and emotion, and doesn't always check with the brain before acting.

I'm incredibly frustrated with SF right now, but if/when the deal goes down, that will subside and I will realize that SF is what he has been throughout his career.

    Nobody should question that.
