    You play in a communist controlled country like China with such a different set of standards where the individual is substantially worth less than the group...well, that's what you get. At least he is not having his wife being restrained and forced to have abortions.

    How do you blow a 80+ Million dollars (The contract the Rockets gave him "after" his rookie contract)...

    You don't play in China for $800,000 if you still had all that money..

    I don't think this has to do Communism, if a player flips the bird in the NBA, i think he will be fined too

    You do realize that if any player did that in the NBA, they'd be fined and/or suspended a game, right?

    The take home is that Steve doesn't get that he's a stone's throw away from seeing his last paycheck ever.

    i doubt he blew all that money. but if you get a chance to make 800 grand to play basketball, why not? sounds like easy money to me. not to mention they're paying for his housing all that that extra stuff. vacation to china for 800 grand while playing rec ball sounds like a good deal to me. much better situation than partying and drinking all the time.

    Hmm I don't understand all the china is communist and what do you expect if you play in china comments ..

    Umm what do you think would happen if he did that in the NBA? The CBA only gave him a warning.. If Francis did that in the NBA dictator Stern would have at least suspended him one game and fined him a huge amount of money.

    We have some hypocrites in here? no?

    This has nothing to do with China. You wave your finger in the NBA, you get ejected and a fine. Isn't it normal? Well if you take it the other way, NBA is communism....

    Maybe im alone on this one, but i' do it to have MORE money. You get paid a ton to vacation in another country for probaby not even half the year. He's getting all kinds of perks while he's there too. He'll get to go home and relax for the other half of the year with nearly an extra million in the bank.
