This from the Boki fan club founder. Are you finished with that polish yet?

That's what you get when you are no longer Yao's main man.

Well, I'd imagine he picked up a lot of votes playing with Yao that he wouldn't have otherwise gotten.. yao fans..

but i have no idea whether or not the "yao voters" made a difference in him winning or not.

I guess other players were having better years.

Too bad the Super Bowl is not that weekend.

It didn't help Steve by them putting Lebron James as a guard either... Lebron should be listed as a small forward.

Florida Today should have a good time with this.

I think this thread is a little different from the All Star reserves thread in that its more of a discussion about SF3.

I think the East is stacked with quality guards and guard play (ummm.. JKidd, Rip, Chauncy, others)..

I knew he would have a harder time making the all star game in the east. However, he still should have made the roster but it looks like the coaches opted for size more than quality.

No, They probably just opted for quality...

My feeling is that the public vote for All-Stars is always at least a year behind the times. That's why Grant Hill and Vince Carter were getting voted into the All-Star game when they didn't play a game of the season. Voters vaguely remember, "Oh, he's good right?" relying on a general impression of the league and not paying much attention to recent performance. So, this year's All Star vote is actually reflecting the reputation that Francis earned last year; when they voted people remember Francis under Van Gundy, not Francis in Orlando.

Now, why the coaches passed on him is a different story. There are a lot of great guards in the east though.

Yao's fans definitely gave Steve more votes last year than this year.

The East put 4 c's on their squad, so that means some of the perimeter guys were going to get squeezed.

The only guy who Francis can say he clearly should have beat out is Paul Pierce I think, the celts are a lousy team and he's not having one of his best seasons.

No. He jsut had no competition in the west. He's way more exciting than Payton/Ray Allen.

Houston is anything but a high profile place.

The Magic are only 1.5 games better than the Celts...wouldn't they both be under the 'lousy' classification.
Besides, Pierce's C's have swept the Magic this year, haven't they?

I dont agree with the year behind... If people dont keep up with basketball to know who's good and who's not they probably didnt vote or even know how to vote...
