Do you really want or support Steve Francis moving to the 2 position or shooting guard? What are the advantages and disadvantages? Can he play shooting guard?

And if you do support moving Steve Francis to the 2....does this mean trade Cuttino Mobley and acquire a "Eric Snow, Jamaal Tinlsey, Alvin Williams" or "Andre Miller, Jason Kidd, Gary Payton:D "?

Francis to me is not a shooter he's just a scorer! (To Me). I like the way it is just that they should pass more thats it!

How about Steve Franics moving 2 another team?

I think there will be a lot more ball movement if he moves to shooting guard, but unless he realizes he's the #2 option, we're still going to have a sluggish offense at times.

Hmm...I wouldn't mind Steve Francis moving 2 another team...as long as we get somebody like Jermaine O'Neal, Vince Carter, Tracy McGrady, Kobe Bryant, Jason Kidd, Lebron James, Chris Webber, Elton Brand, Dirk Nowitzki, Tim Duncan, Kevin Garnett, or Shaq in return.
And it is very complicated to trade him.
    He is pretty much untouchable.
He and Yao are supposed to be our future.
We traded 11 players for him...
And if you watched games...he struggled offensively because he did not shoot. It was horrible. At one period of time....he did not shoot at all and was passing up wide open shots! But he was also being very efficient with many assists....I think he was beginning to understand that Yao was the #1 option...but then Larry Smith became head coach....and screwed everything up!
    Steve Francis understands.
Mobley is still a ballhog...but also showed signs of improvement.

Who wants everything to remain the same???

    I voted Francis to SG.

However, that doesn't mean he's a good SG. He still needs to prove to me that he can play decent defense. We need a REAL PG badly. Mobley for sixth man subs Francis.

If Franchise really seeking MJ for leadership advice, he should at least learn that you can be a leader that makes a difference without scoring a lot of points. How many times you saw MJ come up with a key stop, key steal, key block or a key dish.

Franchise proved he wants to lead and he's willing to change his way for the improvement of the team. With all that said, he's supposed to be moved to his more natural role SG.

    Good post. I agree.

I'm not sure he can play defense. But I do know that he can get past any shooting guard on offense. He really can. On defense though...that is unknown. Solutions would be to put our new point guard on the shooting guard...if our point guard was like tall...6-4...6-5...6-6...Or our small forward. Maybe we can get a small forward who can shoot and defend...like Bruce Bowen...but maybe better. ;) Don't know who that is...

Mobley as a 6th man would be excellent.

    I can't vote.

    Many situations are possible.

Either we get a PG that can run this team (Brent Barry, not Moochie), and then Francis moves to the 2 (Mobley to the bench, or traded).

Or, Francis stays at the 1, and then we bring in a 2 guard (6'5" - 6'7") that can shoot and play defense; shut people down (Artest-like, Richardson-like and Mobley goes to the bench or traded).

Francis (Wants to be a: SG) and Mobley (Playing his role: SG) do not mesh well on the court together.

For all the good things they do, they hurt the team because they both act like "shooting guards" that don't like to pass. It make matters worse that they are "buddies."

That's why I don't mind Mobley going to the bench if we don't pick up a free-agent or trade.

So, it all depends on what Francis does and/or what trade possibilities happen during the next year.

Why do people say Yao is #1 option... Hes nt ready for that role now. Francis overall is way more talented than Yao, but yao is 7'6''. Your wasting alooooooot of talent if Francis isnt a 1st option, because he is cabable of being a franchise player, and a hall of famer.

When is this board gonna learn that Francis WILL NOT move to the 2 on a permanent basis?.....the reason we got Franchise in the first place was that he didn't want to play on a team that had another established PG in Bibby and did not want to play the 2 for the Grizzles

So please ask yourself why he'd want to play the 2 on this team???

steve will do better as a shooting guard. and defencively it will help our team!

ok, steve is a below average defender. and as quick as he is he has trouble guarding the quick PG's. if steve is moved to the two, and we bring in a big defencive PG our defence will improve, just not the way most people think it will.

most people want that new PG (williams? crawford?) to guard the opposing teams SG to let steve guard the 1. this doesnt make us any better that having steve guard the one this year with cat guarding the 2's.

have the new defencive stopper guard the ones. make it hard for the other team to get into thier offence. take time off the clock. then take a rushed shot.

its more important to stop PG's from running the team than it is to just stop a scorer. you can allways double team a scorer. if you double team a point guard then you are leaving a scorer open.
