Seriously why does he have the nick "The Franchise." What has he ever done to deserve that nick? All he does is dribble the ball like crazy before turning it over. The only guarantee so far is that "The Franchise" will lead your team to the lottery each and every year.

I don't care if I get flamed, since this board has become nothing but a Yao bashing board now.

I think everyone who starts threads like these should simply be banned, end of story.

Francis sucks, simple as that. He can dribble all he wants but he will still act like a fool unless he learns how to pass the ball like a proper point guard would. So many seasons now, this maniac Franchise still has no clue as to how to lead the team to the playoffs. He should be scolded for this crap.

It's easy to forget that Steve Francis has been a point guard for all off...4 years now...and even that's debatable since Rudy had him doing whatever he wanted, AI style. He played shooting guard in high school, junior college, college...I think he's doing a pretty good job of becoming a point guard after 3 years of Rudy ball made him, in essence, a 2 guard.

If he were playing the 2 and were like Iverson...would you still be complaining?

Sorry, I just discover that the only statistics that Steve has been ranked at TOP 20 is TURNOVERS!

Ranks #9 in the NBA in Total Turnovers(25.0)
Ranks #2 in the NBA in Turnovers Per Game(4.17)
Ranks #8 in the NBA in Turnovers Per 48 Minutes(5.31)

Okay, new rule: True fans must wait till three or four games have been played to jump out and make these comments!

I swear, when we win, it's like YAY! Understandable, but when we lose, it's like, "We suck! It's this person's fault. Trade him! He doesn't belong in the NBA. He's overated."

Ever wonder why a season is 82 games long? Because teams win and lose all the time.

Steve is crucial to the team. If he gets injured tomorrow and is out for four months, you would be crying about how much of a loss it would be to the team. And the team would suffer.

    The same with Yao.

    The same with Mobely even.

And even the same with Jackson.

It was apparent tonight that we could have really used Taylor, and Pike and A. Griffen are looking more and more to be a sight for sore eyes on the eve of their return.

I just hope Moochie never gets injured. The season would be lost without him. There would only be weeping and gnashing.

I would trade Ming for Amare straight up. Just watch the game tomarrow.

If its okay to request Steve trades, then it should be fair to request Ming trades. Also because he is overrated just ask any team board on realgm and every fan will tell you Ming is overhyped.

:D Hehe...when someone brought up the "Trade Steve for _", and you then return the fire with a "Trade Yao for _", it's like trying to make 2 negatives to make 1 positive. ;) If you were really a Rockets' fan then you woulda treated every player fairly. But in your case it seems more like the preference of certain individual rather than the group, which makes you no different than those "_only" fans.:D

You fight stupidity with common sense, and based on your post Xenogears I'm going to have to dish out a world of common sense.

Uh-huh. That's all Francis does. I guess he accidentally scores 19 points, 5.9 boards, 5.6 assists, 1.7 steals and hits over 46% of his shots in between the "dribbling like crazy" and the "turning it over".

Yes, this board has become "nothing but a Yao bashing board" now. Sure. Never mind there are hundreds to thousands who support Yao on a regular basis, and people who routinely post their desire for Yao to succeed ... forget all that. The whole board bashes Yao because you just saw one thread tear in to Yao..

Posts that address the entire board as if they are of one mindset are some of the goofiest, stupidest posts around.

Not only is that ridiculous, but it shows your mindset. "Someone has posted a negative thread about Yao? I'm going to fire back by doing the same to Francis and get those Yao-haters!" I mean what hell is this? People can't want Yao AND Francis to succeed? People can't love their country and NOT hate the other? We are not the Mavs or the Lakers here. We have two superstars and we need both to succeed. Attacking one just to prop the other is the most annoying virus that has infected some of the posters here.

Just as Clutch said in another thread, "I agree we need a true PG. Whether he will start or come off the bench doesn't matter. It was sad seeing our guards unable to break down the zone or run a simple transition play."

However, I don't think Francis or Yao is the most overrated player in NBA. Numerous others who were hyped but gone silent in the league. Our power house twins here have made Rocket better, and that fact will not disappear over one loss to a very good team.

Not only their stat supports that, but their presence on the court and their ability off the court all prove major assets in NBA. Simple as that, in this league, how many players can play one on one against Francis or Yao in their position. That is the talent level. It's the maturity and the team chemistry that we have to work on. Francis may not be the best person running team play at the point; but he defintely can score.

You know, some idiot started a thread like this about Yao and got flamed for it, now you are being an idiot and decided to go and do the same thing?

What purpose does this serve? If you think the other thread is dumb (which it is), post it in there. No need to keep cluttering the front page with more dumb threads.
