This is a thread for people who are waiting until after Steve goes public to pass judgement. This is a thread for people who know that in reality, there aren't any good trade scenarios for Francis because his contract is too small and too short. People here know that he won't stay in Cleveland or New Orleans and that Chicago is set on J Will. We know that Washington and New York is where he'd like to play if he's not with the Rockets and we know they don't have anything worth while to give us. Things aren't going to work out if Steve just leaves, Ming is going to be a good center, but he's not a franchise player. He's the final piece to the puzzle, but there's no way you can build a championship team with your main guy being a jump shooting center and just putting complimentary players around him. That being said, here it's all about positive feelings. How ever you get your Mojo going, make it positive. It's not just about keeping Steve here, we also need to get our "China won't mess this up for us" mojo going as well. So let's all get positive and believe things will work out. So say a prayer, meditate, sing a chant, do a little dance, whatever gets your mojo going. Think positive: Rockets, the 2005 NBA champions. Steve Francis, Finals MVP, Yao Ming and Eddie Griffin, tie for defensive player of the year, Rudy T, coach of the year, and Moochie the 6th man of the year. Hummmmmm, Hummmmmmm, Hummmmmmmm
I like your style Oski. I can understand Steve's desire to win. I think since he hasn't been to the playoffs yet, he really is tired of waiting on players to develop and wants to win now. I just think that Steve's idea of what it takes to win isn't the idea most people have. I disagree with Steve's idea that Odom will add the final piece more than Ming would. But I do believe that Francis feels strongly about his opinion and feels that he is being relegated to playing 40 win seasons for the next two years. If that is indeed the way he sees it, I understand his frustration. However, I hope that he decides to trust in Rudy, CD and others, and make the best of the situation, and work within whatever situation and whatever personell the team decides to go with. As hard as that might be for him, I think it's the professional thing to do.
Maybe not A-train, but I'm willing to pray for positive things. And I'm willing to not knock Francis till he actually does something in public that bears out all the rumor about him. But thats normal for me, The sunshine-ass homer from hell.
