Could we use Artest at the PF and SF spots? Artest would be no more of a cancer than Steve appears to be. Plus with Bibby out, this would work for the Kings.

Imagine the tough guy lineup of Artest at the PF and Bonzi at SF with MJ at shooting guard. That's a defensive stopping crew. This also would allow AB to get some minutes at the point with Scola playing the 5 spot. AB can't develop at NBDL level. He needs some regular season minutes.

Bottom line I think RA can handle an Artest, worst case he gets a DNP-CD.

Well we all know RA can handel Artest because he coached him the same year he had Bonzi.

That said I doubt the Kings would pull the trigger on this trade.

    Crazy.

    We have TMac.
    We have Bonzi.
    We have Battier.

All three are starter material and can play PF/SF (remember TMac guarded Dirk in '04?).

If we add a player, it needs to be a 4/5 ...not a 3/4. We need another big body in case Scola/Hayes gets hurt.

    You've convinced me...

At first I was like "Nah, I'm not givin' up two players who aren't even in the rotation for a former defensive player of the year..."

But now I'm thinking just MAYBE that trade could work in our favor.

I'm not sure if the Rockets front office would go for it, despite how much begging the Kings do.

Artest would be the perfect fit. But I think it was reported in the summer that the Malouf's did not want to give up anyone that would help Adelman

Actually, all we know is Artest didn't implode any more than normal under Adelman in Sacramento. We don't know what would happen if Artest were added to this team. You can't assume anything with this guy.

On the trade merits itself, the Kings wouldn't be getting enough for Artest, who is 10x as talented as Snyder and SF put together.

salaries do not match and why would Sacramento want bench players for a starter. there is talk right now about him being invlved in a trade to the lakers for Kobe and Chicago is also in the deal.

lol it's funny i suggested this exact trade the other day. kirk snyder + francis for artest. unfortunately that would be highway robbery. theres no way in hell the kings would do this. and im not sure if artest can play PF.

I say YES! It would be a big boost to the Rockets, it might even bring a winning spirit to the team.

i dont know if i want artest taking over battier. they are both similar players, but artest is a whole lot better offensively, and probably a little better defensively. however artest brings a lot of baggage and battier is the perfect role model.

So what you're saying is that at the moment both Battier and McGrady are starting at SF?

I totally agree with Apollo Creed's comments!

I will throw Battier in the mix but I doubt Sacrament will trade Arterst for just role players.

HAHA good one...2 DNP guys for an all star

A deal that makes more sense but we shouldn't do (wouldn't do) is a combination of Battier and either Francis or Rafer. But again I wouldn't want to mess up the chemistry that we already have with Battier. And Artest loves having the ball in his hands, do we need another person that wants his fair share of touches in the offense? You got Yao and Tracy already, then Mike James massages the ball and waves off Tracy, Bonzi will get his...

I heard Sac town would like the deal better if we gave them Steve Novak and a sack full of cow sh*t.

Maybe the Kobe trade could work after all. . . . .
