Here is a link to the news: http://www.niubball.com/2010/12/steve-francis-and-beijing-part-ways/ It's sad to see one of my favorite players like this.
This is what happens when a player relies on athleticism his entire career, instead of developing his techniques. As exciting as the Franchise was, he never played intelligently at all. True he played with a lot of hops and heart, but he also played very selfishly. Players can lose athleticism from something as simple as a freak injury. There is a reason that no NBA team wanted this guy and it is definitely sad to see that he can't even make it in a league with as low a skill level as the league in China.
has a rules change every so adversely affected a players ability to even be in the league? i've always wondered if it was a lack of commitment, intelligence, or true ability.
Behavior and his conditioning. I highly doubt that his skills have withered away so much that he can't compete fairly in the CBA.
Steve's arrogance and ego has been his downfall for years. He's reached a point where he's now irrelevant in basketball; bankruptcy can't be far behind, especially if he has a drug/alcohol problem. It looks like the Chinese went out of their way to make Steve comfortable in the league and he just pissed all over their courtesy...that was probably his last chance to ever play basketball for money. Some people are just stuck on stupid...
From his recent Beijing pictures, Steve looks like in kind of drug or alcohol problem. The result was expected by manys guys on this board. Yao Ming would have signed Steve if he has no problem. BTW, I think Yao Ming stole Mike Harris from another team in China.
Dude, shut up. I understand if someone repeatedly posts in the wrong forum, but sometimes does it really matter? Don't you have anything constructive to say in regards to the content of the post? Post nazi's caring more about where something belongs as opposed to the significance of the post is just a way to b****
