As expected. Orlando squad looks (from the boxscore) so much better than last year. I won't be surprise if they win their division. Memphis starters are playing heavy minutes.
wow 5 to already? sounds like good old francis just in the east, where he can run and gun. 4-11 shooting....?
Memphis is leading now.... I believe Francis' stats this season will be something like 22/7/7 but at the same time he will lead the league in turnovers....
Wow...anyone notice this. Grant Hill is actually playing. Good thing to see. Used to really like the guys game.
Well the Rocket's won anyway, but any minute of playing together would of helped and entertained! Hmm... Looks like Francis got all his TOs in the first quarter, and settled down after that.
Dwight Howard looks like the real deal and Cat will average over 20 points a game this year. The biggest thing is that they have 19 fast break points which is more that we had all last year.
Wow! Check out the fouls! They really must be calling those handchecks close, both of Memphis pgs fouled out, and out of Cato, Howard and Battie only Cato didn't foul out.
With the league supposedly planning on calling more handcheck fouls on the perimeter (we'll see how long that lasts), Steve and Cat could return to the form of 2000-2001. Steve sure as hell couldn't get to the line that many times with our style of play.
Good overall numbers in the end for Steve, but then you look at the turnovers and shooting %... But it's just 1 preseason game.
35 minutes for Francis 32 minutes for Mobes 32 minutes for Howard A meaningless pre-season game and your starters are getting a lot of minutes. Are they trying to sell tickets?
They didnt play that many minutes. Posey and Williams didnt even play. I dont think Orlando will hang with anyone in the Western Conference. I still like our team better.
I was at this game, I posted my observations on the NBA forum, but here they are: Franchise and Mobley were still kinda doing the "Rockets" that is isolate, and jack shots. To Mobley's credit, he was hitting them all. He was popping J's all over the place. Franchise can really dribble, but sometimes, like you guys rant about, a little too much. Great numbers from Cat, and Franchise was also in double digits. Cato kinda sucked in the beginning, but in the 2nd half he started playing better. Franchise also threw an alley-oop to him, just like the Rockets days. I'm not sure if you guys miss that, but I remember they connected on that play every game last year. It's great to see that they are still doing that.
