great, so we get to hear jim kiss up to stevie now too?

aargh, i can't stand Romey. It bugs me that I actually liked listening to him in college.

saying that, I guess the Rocket fan in me will force me to listen to his god-awful act.

I used to listen to Jim Rome but came to realize hes kind of a front runner. You will never hear him say "Jason Collier......Love that guy!!!!"

The thing about Rome though, is that he does have some good sports takes, and his "humor" takes are HILARIOUS. But it does bother me that he is so bandwagoning though. It used to be that he'd really rag on NeckCar and such, but lately he's had certain NASCAR drivers on.

I still enjoy his program though.

I can't stand him and his so-called, "clones". I tried listening to that and just detest his, "karma", as well. He is truly a horrible guy the way that he front-runs too, it's unbearable.

The thing that bugs me the most about his takes are most of them are NOT his own.

If you read the sports website (ESPN, CNNSI, SportingNews) in the morning, then you will hear him take EXACT quotes from them and use them as his own.

I wish he would do his own thinking.......

You're right. I've actually read ESPN's website in the morning, and then when Jim Rome comes on he's quoting an article I just read word for word. He also has a tendency to rip people who don't give him interviews. He rips guys like Ken Griffey Junior because they don't want to be interviewed by a guy who takes personal shots at them. Same with Dusty Baker, not only does he rip him for that Rome is also a huge Los Angeles Dodgers and Lakers fan even though he claims he isn't anymore, thus attacking the Giants, namels Bonds, Baker, Santiago and Kent.

Im sure Steve will have to defend Yao Ming tomorrow, I would bet you top dollar that, that Fox Sports robot, smart alleic wanna-be, will have something bad to say about Yao.

Most sports writers, and so called "experts" have been waiting since the Draft Lottery to rip Yao a "new one". I really cant see Rome not doing that. I guess we will see how much Steve really likes Yao now huh?

steve had to cancel maybe due to a practice or something. i didn't catch the end of the show so i don't know if it was rescheduled for tomorrow or maybe later this week.

i listen to rome every morning. not all of his takes are original but there's pleny of hilarious stuff, alot of it non-sports related. he's also a very good interviewer.

I agree!!! Usually, I'm not much of a fan of interviews, but Rome does better interviews than anyone else. The best interview I've ever heard on any subject or in any area (politics, sports, etc.) was when he interviewed Buck O'Neil. I was so impressed that the minute I returned to my office, I ordered his book, I was Right on Time.
