I am hereby giving all Steve bashers one free day of Steve bashing. Until the Golden State game tonight, do all the Steve bashing you want and you won't get any argument from me. Just try to keep it in this thread so those with weak hearts can stay away. I was dissapointed with his play last night. He could have made an impact when Portland shot so poorly in the first half, but he just kept making bad decision after bad decision. Two inexcusable charging violations kept him from making an impact when Ming went to the bench with foul trouble. He managed to make his final three shots of the game to spare himself complete humiliation, but overall it was a dissapointing performance.

Over his last seven games, he's shooting an Iverson-esque 37% from the field, hasn't made 10 field goals in a game in that stretch, and has a dismal A/TO ratio of 1.64. Yes, he's picked a PERFECT time to start playing like a second stringer, when the Rockets could be doing some damage and sending a message to the rest of the league that they are going to the playoffs...

kidrock8!! You're probably the biggest Steve hater on the board. Let him feel your rath!

DaDakota!! You were one of the ORIGINAL Steve bashers! You were bashing Steve before it became popular. I know you're just SALIVATING at the chance to rip into him!

jlaw, you can continue what you started yesterday. I know you're relatively new to Steve bashing, but some of the veterans will help you out...

Where can I start from? This one is too easy - that boy's immaturity is driving me crazy. A bulk of the blame should go for him and Rudi (who allowed the nonsense to go on).

Steve Francis is not an all star - at least not ahead of the glove, Bibby and Nash. Maybe the migrane affected his IQ. How can I ask NBA.com to refund my vote for him for the all star team? Please help....

    nonsense.

When you go to the Rox game, one thing for sure you can always get to see is that between legs dribbling show from Steve.
Sometimes it was felt like in a lecture, a professor had to say hundreds "OK" between his sentences, which makes it hard for
    the audiences.

Ha, ha, I'm waiting for this opportunity for a long long time. A-Train, I will not let you down. I hope there is an award called Most Valuable Basher (SF Category) of the year.

    I was just joking.
I don't bash for no reasons. But, the duo of SF and Yao is coming along. And this duo is the ultimate answer in Rox offense. Let's get back to bash SF a little bit. I'm getting little itchy.

I watched every second of the game last night. I was even holding my pee until half-time. The turnovers from SF were as bad as the ones he made in the previous games. I remembered vividly, Calvin M. said with frustration "He dribbled the ball too much.". And in just a second after he said it, he lost the ball. The same thing repeated one or two more times. Well, another was he forced his way to the basket when there were three big guys surrounding him, and he had the chance to pass the ball to the open guy. Again, he lost the control of the ball and the ball got stripped away. Well, whatever comments Steve "Slapper" Jones said about SF are only partly accurate and partly inaccurate. True he is a gifted player but he needs to realize he is only 6-3 and you can only maintain your vertical leap before turning 32-33. He is prone to severe knee injuries with his physical plays. And the way of he used his body was reckless and very soon one day he would realize he could not afford another body slam. I'm not saying he should stop playing aggressively. But playing with a brain. A true leader knows how to avoid injury because he knows his presence is very critical to the team. However, I think he is improving in this perspective....

My fingers are getting little tired. I'll get back bashing after a short break.

For all the brilliant moves Francis displays on the court he nullifies them
    with his knuckle-head moves.

    He's a master scorer. A specialist.

But, he's NOT a basketball player. And he has yet to learn how to run this team.
No one will respect him until he does so.

Basketball player = high bb-IQ, one that knows all facets of the game
on both ends of the court. Not perfect. But, well-rounded.

    Nah,

I think that they are just adjusting to 2 things.

    1. The emergence of a low post threat in Yao Ming.
    2. Other teams using Zone defense against us.

Once they figure that out, it will be all over.

By the way, the Zone allows for lesser talented players to be effective on defense, not sure how they expected it to help scoring.

Another BRILLIANT move by the NBA.

Can you teach basketball decision-making? Apparently not. S.F. despite his considerable skills and abilities continues to make horrific decisions during games. Why can't these "bad habits" be reconditioned. Year after year he jumps into double and trible teams, over-dribbles, forces passes, etc. Result: very inopportune turnovers, missed wide open opportunities, and so on. I know he wants to change these things; does he just "lose it" during games and forgets everything he wants to do. I don't understand.

Steve is having a hard time adjusting to playing WITHOUT the ball.

He still wants to break down his man when the other team is playing a zone defense...and he has NO ONE to break down.

The Rocks passing offense is the answer, but even that doesn't work if we don't hit our shots.....

    OR OUR FREE THROWS !!!

What! There are stuff you can teach, and some you can't. Rudy cannot teach Steve what good decisions are. This is a mental thing, like personality, a character thing. Can I teach you to be a hard worker? I don't mind he dominates the ball all night long, but make good decisions for 48 minutes in each game.

    Yep.
How many times do you see Rudy put his face in his hands after
    a Francis (unforced) turnover?

    Sigh...

Even if we hit our free throws and won the game, it's still doesn't address
what we are talking about; unforced turn-overs by the one and only, SF.
    Our fearless "leader."

i liked it when steve had a breakaway dunk, but he opted to get fancy and pass it over his head to Yao, who had stopped running. please steve, when the shooting is this bad, just take the stupid layup!

Remember when I told you guys what Clyde said about Steve crossing people over again once he has gotten them? He said a little more and those truthes were apparant than last night. I have never yelled, "PASS THE DAMN BALL!" more in my life.

Maurice Taylor and TMO were really solid contributors but just like in street ball if you don't get the ball often enough, you start to force shots when you finally get it. I'm a Steve lover, but dude's got to get everyone more involved.

I wonder if Chance can come up with a song called "BALL HOG"

The zone defenses we are facing are confusing Steve and exposing how ragged we run our "motion offense" and how poorly we pass.

Rhester, you are hitting the target. With the zone now, it is like opening a can of worms. Rox expose many fundamental problems.

I only saw the first half. I love Steve, but it seemed like he turned the ball over every time he drove. I think he was expecting a couple of foul calls early.
