Who do you think is most likely to step up their game this postseason. In times past, it has been McGrady that has had the expectation. He always did in his earlier years and he had the game and ability that was perfect for the postseason.

Yo Ming has generally been the same or worse thus far in his career - a result of inexperience, injuries, and bad matchups against Utah. Is he more of a sure bet this year? Does it depend on who they meet?

Artest has been hit or miss in his career.

Everyone else doesn't really have much of a sample size.

Luis "Luifa" Scola is a born winner.

    He does not lose.

Luis Scola...I really hope during crunch time if teams are fronting Yao we bring Yao out to the high post and let Scola go to work down low because I know he can get it done.

    Ron Artest
    • Contract Year
    • Not a newbie to the playoffs
    • Able to play both sides of the floor
    • Can go to the hole, post up, or shoot from three
    • Other than Yao he's our next goto player
    • he's a beast
    • Did I mention he's in a contract year?!!

Let's just hope he doesn't confuse "stepping up" with "I have to dribble, dribble, dribble and make this impossible shot just to prove that I can be the man".

Yao is aged player now. When he talked about NBA to Chinese reporters, he seemed to reserve some energy for playoff. He used to the guy who pulled out all his energy in pre-seasons. Now he know better how to distribute his energy and he is healthy.

Anyway, rockets need him to go deep.

Luis Scola is a winner and competitor. He proved it last summer with the Argentinian team and will step his game up to a top level during these playoffs. He is mature and ready to take over!

Let's just hope he doesn't confuse "stepping up" with stepping up off the court "Palace of Auburn Hills" style . . ;)

I know they're both longshots, by why no Shane or Lowry?

Von Wafer and Yao Ming likely will play better and get the better numbers in the playoffs. Scola is already playing great, do not know if he can further step it up much. Lowry could play a key role in the playoffs too.

    Scola.

Playoffs are all about pride, scrapping for loose balls, hustling for tough rebounds, etc. This is Scola’s specialty. Plus I think his international experience of being "the man" last summer can only help. I look for him to play hard every second of every minute he’s on the floor. Hopefully it will be contagious.

You should have put Shane on this list too. I expect the same thing out of him plus I expect him to hit some HUGE Mario Elie like 3-pointers along the way. He’s been red hot the last few weeks.

Amen. But Luis won't step up - he's always up. He's a stud.

I think it's most important for Artest to step up. If we win, he's going to be the one that stepped up.

    Yao Ming.

our opponents are going to be Dallas, Portland, Hornets. No team can stop Yao except the referees.

    Yao will average 30/15.

For some reason i think it will be Von, he's playing for a contract and what better way to make your money then in the playoffs, even though he's already made a great name for himself this year

It really depends on the matchups. If we play the Hornets or Spurs i expect to see alot of Yao, if it's the blazers or the mavs i think we will see our perimeter guys rip them up.

Either way i assume Wafer will be launching a few more shots than normal. He's playing for a contract and now he's on the big stage. If he can "win" us a game he'll probably be all over ESPN for a couple days and that be enough to him a mid-level guy...which would probably mean he's gone next season.
