The Pacers just traded for Marquis Daniels.

All indications point to Danny Granger getting the start at small forward this season now that Croshere has been dealt to Dallas. I would assume that would leave Daniels and Jackson to battle it out for minutes at shooting guard.

I'm not exactly sure how interested Indiana is in re-signing Fred Jones but I do seem to recall Bird being fed up with Stephen Jackson towards the end of last season.

A straight-up Stephen Jackson for Juwan Howard trade would work if Indiana had any interest in Howard. Seeing that Foster starts at center and backs up Jermaine O'Neal at the power forward position it would seem that they have a need for another player who can play the "4" position.

As most of you know, Jackson is a local guy (Port Arthur), just turned 28 years old, can shoot the three pretty well, is an above average defender, and best of all is 6'8". I would love to see something like this happen.

Just not sure what we would be able to do at the power forward position in the event that Howard is traded away.

Stephen Jackson for Juwan Howard is an interesting thought. I think Jackson has one more year at the end of his contract than Howard does.

Jackson gives us more outside shooting and length at the 2 guard position. The downside to Jackson is he is an average defender at best and of course his contract. BUT, Jackson was a key gunner for the Spurs during their championship run.

I just don't think the Pacer would have much intrest in an older player with a large contract, in all likelyhood, if they'd move Jackson they would probably try and get a lot more for him than Juwan

when s-jax selfishly attempts the game winning shot for the the nth time in so many games. fans will be angry, mj will be angry, tmac will be angry, and jvg will be angry.

He's got an attitude problem and shoot a low percentage but when open he is dangerous. Has good size but if we trade Howard for him we have to find a power forward but I'd love Stephen Jckson type of player off the bench.

I'm not so high on him for the single reason that the Spurs let him go after they won a title. Most compitent teams wouldn't let go of a rising young talent while they're gearing up for a title defense.

The guy doesn't have the greatest bball IQ in the world. He jacks up bad shots a lot and can be just flat out dumb at times. Not Stromile Swift dumb, but still it can get bad.

That being said, he doesn't totally waste his athleticism like Swift does and actually plays pretty well. The Spurs didn't resign him because he was set to get a big raise (which he got from Indiana) and they were grooming Ginobili so Jackson wouldn't get nearly as much playing time anymore.

He gives you great size at the guard spot and shoots the ball fairly well. He would definitely be an upgrade over anything we have now.

Sorry to bring this point up, this has nothing to do with basketball...
This Steven guy is nothing but a punk!!!
I live in the same neiborghood as his mom's (in Port Arthur area). Saw him walked his (his mom's) dog couple of times, stuck-up s.o.b. I don't want him in my team...that's just me though...

I don't think gettin a black willem Dafoe helps us out that much when he want him to d up hard and hit open shots. Problem with the black Willem Dafoe is he likes gunning, a lot too much. We got tmac and Yao for creating, everyone else should just sit back and wait for open looks.

On top of that, Sjax seems uncoachable and JVG seems like the wrong kinda of coach for him. Doesn't look like it would work out.

Pacers'd love this trade, SJax is a cancer for them!
if we're told Swift is a nagative value and we could just dump him for NOTHING, nobody here'd belive.

    i don't like it though :(

how about a JHo + Head for Kenny Thomas trade?
the Kings rumored tried to dump KT's contract last season, JHo has a smaller and 1yr shorter contract and Head could help their backcourt in case they lose Bonzi. KT has a fat contract but he is a good fit on this team (quick, tough, strong, can shoot, great rebounder, solid defense)
    Yao, Kenny, Battier, T-Mac, James
    sounds good?

What neighborhood? Some of my buddies play with him relatively often at the Port Arthur YMCA, and I've met him there. He's definitely full of himself, but he's not all that bad.
