Yeah, I saw that thread. This one isn't about Colbert. It's a (far less than comprehensive) list of the new GOP's batty ass upisdownism. "Colbert wasn't funny" is only the most recent model. I'm not surprised you rolled your eyes. You probably agree with every single ridiculous thing in the list.

I was thinking about that too. Maybe he doesn't cotton to his new role as a member of the lunatic fringe.

I've commented on a few. Frankly it's not worth my time to reply to all of them

Clinton's approval ratings went down to 32% or 37% somewhere in there...

So now what? Why not make a big deal out of almost nothing. These things happen to presidents-- even The Golden Boy. :D

    but...but...but...CLINTON!!!!!

Poor giddy! Have you fallen for the basso defense of the failed administration? Is that really all you guys have left? Here's a tip for ya, the statute of limitations in using Clinton for an excuse for the failures of the Bush administration ended when he was re-elected.

No, but the ones you did reply to are telling indeed...

Really? Being honest, digging for the truth, and telling it like it is is "batty?"

And we were in the process of verifying that Iraq had indeed divested itself of said WMDs when Bush kicked out the inspectors. In fact, the inspectors were less than six months away from delivering their report when Bush kicked them out, supposedly because Iraq was such a grave threat to our security.

You are such a liar. Democrats just want the law to apply to everyone in the country including the president. He can wiretap anyone he wants, he just has to get a warrant that can be applied for up to three days after the fact.

No, GWB said this flat out even though he had been specifically warned about possible levee breaches the day before Katrina hit. The only one this comment can be blamed on is Bush. Nobody is blaming the levee breaches on "the right," but Bush should have some accountability for lying to us about what he was specifically told was possible.

Good to see that you can admit that the president lies.

If you listen to the experts rather than the writers for 24, torture is not only unnecessary, it is counterproductive in almost every circumstance.

And your venom and vitriol is typical of Bush supporters and sore winners.

After all of Bush's latest flip-flops, he is way, WAY more accurately described that way than Kerry.

If there were a way to prove this, I would bet anything and everything that you are dead wrong.

Yes, you really do need to lose those blinders.

Faux News is exactly as "fair and balanced" as Air America Radio. Exactly.

    Start looking at reality.

    No, you are wrong...

"His low point, in fact, came years earlier: A 43 percent job approval rating in June 1993, as his new administration floundered and the economy remained weak."

Clinton's approval rating actually ROSE during the Lewinsky "scandal."

It's only for comparitive purposes. You and your guys squawk about this like he is the first president ever to suffer low ratings. It's nothing new. Your memory is short when you want to make fun of someone! :)

Look at my post above. Clinton's lowest point was still 11 points higher than Bush is now.

I think it is you that has the short memory.

    --------------
This brings us to Bill Clinton. Clinton averaged a 55% job-approval rating over his eight years in office between January 1993 and January 2001. Although it would be easy to assume that Clinton’s ratings were worst in his last years in office -- as he became embroiled in the Monica Lewinsky scandal and became only the second president in U.S. history to be impeached by the House of Representatives -- the reverse is true. His second-term job-approval average was actually quite a bit higher than that of his first term. He averaged only 50% in his first term -- beset in large part by the woes of the economy. Bolstered by a robust economy in his second term, Clinton averaged 61% from 1997-2001. Clinton’s overall average of 55% is slightly above the averages of Presidents Reagan, Carter, Ford, and Nixon, and is tied with Johnson’s.

You wanna find me Jr's average approval ratings over the course of his presidency?
