He'll probably follow David Aldridge and make the jump to TNT. Like him or not he's still provocative and entertaining enough to tune in. Somebody will always listen to what he has to say.
No, don't like him. DA>SAS never was sure why Disney Sports got rid of DA. Maybe he didn't scream enough.
Whenever I have heard him on the ESPN morning shows like Mike and Mike he has been pretty good. Seems like whenever he is on shows like that without his TV antics he actually adds some insightful commentary. Unfortunately his TV persona is pretty damn abrasive and his takes are as brutal as Skip Bayless.
Honestly he wasnt really an ESPN type guy. The network is so politically correct and Stephen A is a direct in your face personallity.
There are only two on-air personalities that I thought were more annoying than SAS : Dan Patrick (the old KSEV owner... no idea what he's up to now) and Barry "Sports Mouth" Warner (no idea where he is now, either) who used to be on KPRC. *EDIT* : Good Lord, it looks like Dan Patrick is a Texas senator now and Barry Warner (at least in 2001) ran an Asian media company. This world is perverse. Ken Silverstein of KTRH back in the day would be in the running of a pain in the neck on-air personality to listen to as well... but he just seemed like a goof.
Simple. He's a loud mouth that is over the top and is arguably controversial. It sells (unfortunately) because of the multitude of people out there that feed on drama.
