Has anyone posted this? Michigan Teen Gets Stem Cell Transplant to Heart Amazing stuff.....my wife had one of those morning shows on today, and they interviewed the kid and his parents. The weird thing is that they didn't appear to be in a hospital. I was rushing to get ready, so I didn't stay too long to watch, but the kid was sitting in a chair, dressed in street clothes, answering questions. Truly amazing for someone they probably weren't giving much hope for.
Wow. I thought that you could only get stem cells from the umbilical cord? I didn't know you could get them from the bone marrow or take a drug to stimulate your body to produce them? Is it possible that the stem cells will repair the heart completely? Can stem cells be used to one day repair everything and maybe we never get old?
Great story, Pole. I wonder if they can do it again if not all the stem cells change into heart cells. What a freak accident. What are the chances of getting shot by a nail gun and getting hit in the heart....
