STEIN_LINE_HQ Sources say Jazz put hard press on Bell -- who has played for Jerry Sloan before -- and offered three-year deal worth nearly $10 million STEIN_LINE_HQ Just filed to ESPN.com: Raja Bell will not be meeting with Kobe Bryant after all ... because Bell has been snapped up Utah
So much for "The Heat can get whomever they want for the min because they're AWESOME." Don't really care about him on the Jazz, but there's plenty of schadenfreude towards Miami.
are you serious!!?!? They are really making it hard for D will to want to leave.. How I hate the Spazz... I hate that they are actually making good moves..
The Lakers were actually the favorites to scoop up Bell for the min. That's been on the ticker all week.
This effectively means the Jazz won't match on Wes Matthews, which means Rudy Fernandez could be available from Portland. Hmm.
jazz and suns both making moves to keep themselves in the playoffs. hate to say it, but chances are slim that we are going to unseat any of these teams.
If Bell has anything left in the tank, this is a GREAT signing for the Jazz. Tell you what, I dislike that franchise as much as anyone. But I have to give KOC props for getting Al Jefferson & Raja Bell. I have no idea why Bell would choose playing in Salt Lake City instead of LA. For that matter, why would any free agent with a choice in the matter ever choose Utah?
So you think going from Carlos Boozer and Wes Matthews to Al Jefferson and Raja Bell is an upgrade? And keeping the same team while adding Yao Ming isn't?
Utah is making up some quick ground. Didn't even know they had interest in Raja. He brings two things they really need: outside shooting and perimeter defense. Nice moves so far.
The only player Kobe has ever successfully recruited is Artest, and he's a crazy nutjob. No one else wants to play with that egomaniac.
You guys do realize that Bell will be 34 - an age at which defensive specialists tend to rapidly decline due to lack of lateral quickness - and basically hasn't played since 2008-09 due to major surgery on his wrist, right?
