Wow, this game is not going to be pretty. Carr better start going to Lakewood church for some serious praying, in the hopes the Steelers don't break him.
What will make this tough is it appears the Steelers are on one of their typical early season rolls where they dominate the line of scrimmage on both sides and can only lose when they make a lot of mistakes. I don't see the mistakes coming because our defense doesn't force them. The Steelers will ram the ball down our throats, and whatever the score, the Texans will feel more humliated after this game than against the Bills. Pittsburgh will impose their will and the Texans aren't good enough to stop them. If it weren't for Phillip "Burnt Toast" Buchanon, I'd put the over/under on pass attempts for Rothlisberger at 10. Buchanon's presence will add at least 5-6 more attempts.
I think the Texans will explode on offense and pile up around 13 points. Final score... Steelers 24 Texans 13
All I know is the line is -6.5 for the Steelers, which is looking like a real steal to me. Just so hard to go against the hometown team...plus I'm going to the game. All I can ask for is the Texans to play their hardest and to regain some confidence from the Bills game.
Any of you tailgating before this game? I'm going with a buddy of mine. Would love to hang out before the game but not really much fun with only the 2 of us.
Those games are usually the ones that end up biting you in the arse. Everyone and their mom will be on the Steelers. Last week everyone and their moms were on the Vikings, Broncos and Rams. All lost straight up and against the spread. Vegas knows what it is doing!!! Id take the points if it gets up to 7 or 7.5 Its worth a shot.
Lol. I agree. The first and last time that I went against the hometown team, who was also a huge underdog, was when the Spurs were playing the Rockets. I had the Spurs parlayed as moneyline w/ most of my other picks that already hit. Crazy enough, this was the game that McGrady went off for the 13pts in 30 sec. Although I lost, it wasn't too bad since I did get to see a crazy comeback. Expensive lesson. LOL.
The Texan's might lose, but not because Pittsburgh has a better team. They'll lose, because I'm attending the game. If I leave early in the 4th, they might have enough time to come back. Texans 16 Pittsburgh 24 That's right Texans. Most of the people on this site have you losing. Prove us wrong
Almost glad I have to work during this game, it might get ugly but I will Tivo it though. Here's the upset of the week, Texans 19 Steelers 17
Just like a lot of you underestimated the Bills you are over estimating the Steelers. The Steelers don't have the passing game they did last season and the Texans are good against the run. I think the Texans defense will be fine, the problem as usual will be on offense. Pittsburg is pretty good against the run but they aren't very good against the pass so Carr and Johnson may actually get off. I'm going to go out on a limb and predict a win. Texans 24 Steelers 17
We'll see how good Carr looks when he's got 5 black jersey's in his backfield everytime he tries to throw. Steelers don't have the passing game they had last season? Interesting. Maybe you missed Big Ben's statline---9/11 for 218 yards on the few, rare opportunities he actually needed to throw, all of which were difficult passes. But hey, I've always gotten a kick out of all the pundits saying he's gonna fall on his ass this year, why should this be any different?
The Steelers were playing the Titans, go look up their defense against the pass stats from last season.
