Since I will be the new commissioner of OOTP for this summer, and the fact a new version has come out recently, I feel obligated to ask would you prefer staying with OOTP4 or moving to OOTP5. Please only league members reply, and majority vote wins.
Im interested in 5 and all its hyperlinking and other features... but im just not sure.. Ill make a decision if its an even vote.
Is there some drawback to converting to 5? Any reason why we wouldn't be able to go back to 4 when Zac gets back? Because if not, I'd like to give 5 a shot. See what it has to offer.
I am interested in being in 2 leagues, but if I have to choose one or the other, it would be 4. Believe it or not, I would be willing to go a whole summer without OOTP as long as it meant that I still had my team when Zac or IV or whoever resumes running the league. So, put me down for 4.
I have played 5 and it is really nice. The new html look is good. I have not however tried any conversions from 4 to 5 which I am sure Zac has done. If the conversions are exceptionally bad then I would vote to stay with 4 until such time as we have a major crash. CK

Reynaldo Escalante set a career high for hits in a game! I live-simmed both of these games with our league file converted to OOTP5 - I was Pittsburgh and Cleveland. If the box scores were updated to the page, I think they would be hyperlinked to player profiles and whatnot. The wild pitches concern me - the box scores do not record multiple ones for a single pitcher it seems; there were four wild pitches in the Pittsburgh-San Diego game and two in Chicago-Cleveland, along with a catcher's interference call in Pittsburgh-San Diego. Small sample size, though; I'm gonna try another few games live to see if the wild pitches keep up. The data conversion all looks fine as far as I can tell, though I find the "stars" rating system to be a bit crap (Hank Blalock and Grant Real are equal to Edmund Steele with 4 1/2 stars and Josh Hamilton and Joel Guzman are just half a star behind them).
I want to clarify my vote. As long as I still have the players that I have now like Hammond, Villareal, Carlos, Buehrle, etc, I don't care if we move to OOTP5 or stay with OOTP4. I was under the impression that if we moved to OOTP5, we would have to start over from scratch, and I would rather not do that. So, if we can keep the teams that we have now, then I don't have a problem going to 5 as long as the conversions aren't bad.
Conversions are fine. The only reason the WPs are happening is probably because of the WP ratings have to live up to the season totals. If we did this BEFORE starting 2012 it would eliminate this problem.
Balks aren't happening, and they have ratings, nor are HBPs. Penny had already thrown 12 wild pitches in the regular season. His expected rating is 4. Groover had already thrown 22. His rating's lower than that, I believe.
Hmm...thats weird, 22 WPs? Thats an awfully large number for OOTP4. Sometimes these "bugs" occur when you convert mid-year, by bugs I mean stuff out of the ordinary like that. Waiting until after the World Series (but before initializing the new season)would eliminate all problems like that.
