Home team stats crew would be responsible -- home team being the Bulls in this case. Stats get flubbed now and then. I don't know why the Bulls stats people would want to inflate LeBron's numbers, though.
this happened before on the road too. well they supposedly review everything at the end of the game and this stats mishap wasn't corrected until AFTER that AOL fanhouse video came out next day. From that chicago game video you can clearly see him not touching the ball, the error wasn't corrected after the game (when reviews happen as usual) and the league still hasn't corrected it.
The league is more likely to correct statistical errors when it resulted in a milestone -- like LeBron's triple-double, or when Hakeem got a quadruple-double. In Hakeem's quadruple double game, the Rockets stats keepers gave him 10 assists after the game (on a Saturday), but the league overruled it the following Monday. http://news.google.com/newspapers?i...BAJ&pg=5351,2752491&dq=quadruple-double&hl=en
now that i see this play again, i can easily see why he got credit for the rebound and i'm not even really sure why they decided it should be taken away. there are lots of rebounds every game where the ball is tipped around and whoever actually ends up controlling it (in this case lebron) gets the rebound even if they weren't in there fighting for it initially. it seems like it took more effort to prove that ben wallace may have controlled his tap to lebron than that he just bobbled it and lebron actually controlled it first.
LeBron said that he won't leave Cleveland this offseason but ESPN Mark Stein via twitter confirms that he is interested in joining Bulls, Knicks and some team from the south (maybe Memphis, but not sure)
LeBron is going to hold a one hour special to announce his decision of which team to sign with. Can you believe it?
This 2010 FA class is really something isn't it? This is going to be one interesting offseason to follow for sure.
I remember a Finals game between Utah and Chicago where MJ fouled somebody (Malone?) under the basket. MJ was in foul trouble, but conveniently the foul ended up being called on Jud Buechler, who was standing at halfcourt. It happens. It has always happened. It will continue to happen.
I know for a fact the league does NOT review the stats after every game, and there have been many cases where folks have brought statistical errors to their attention only to have them stay. DD
Stat keepers cheat or make a mistake lol. Would this thread even be brought up if it wasn't LeBron? Accepting the villain role quite while, last night he told the city of Portland to shove it.
