Comment only on your personal analysis. This is going to probably eliminate 99.9% of the posters since they don’t have a proper education in statistical principles. However, personal bias will be nonexistent, because the numbers don't lie.

I researched it extensively, and 97.3% of the time that the Rockets score more points, they win.

So I think they should try to do that every time.

This is disappointing. Everyone knows that opinions unsupported by statistics or facts are the gold standard for understanding the world around us. Wake up!

The rockets offense is actually quite good, despite the constant complaints about it. The rockets have had the 2nd best offense in the NBA up until today, where they dropped to third due to our last two abysmal performances without Sengun.

The problem with the team is actually defense. And while our defense is quite good overall (6th in the league), if you look at the reason we lose games, it is because our defense plays extremely poorly. The rockets average defensive rating is 113.4, which is quite good, 6th in the league as I just pointed out. But in the rockets losses their defensive rating is 122.9. For reference, this would be the #29 defense in the league (The Jazz are the only team worse at 123.1). In simpler words, we only lose when we play defense like the worst team in the league. Houston's record this year when we have a defensive rating of 120 or better is 19-3, which is a 71 win pace.

And in case my post had you wondering if the same correlation exists with our offense, no it doesn't. I did check.

To sum up my thoughts - our offense is very good. Our offense is not the problem. Our defense is pretty good, but it is very inconsistent. Our biggest problem as a team, and the thing that causes most of our losses, is our inability to defend. We lose when we play really bad defense, and we win nearly every game where we play even league average defense.

Our centers are our least efficient rotation players which is beyond bizarre (too small a sample for DFS).

Bad offense leads to statistically poor defense.

There are lots of times when the offense just can't do anything right, stretches of turnovers and bad shots that lead to easy buckets on the other end - that makes the defense appear bad .... but it's a direct result of bad offense.
