Report: Chris Simms arrested on driving while stoned charge

    By American-Statesman staff | Thursday, July 1, 2010, 12:59 PM

Former Longhorn and current Tennessee Titans quarterback Chris Simms was arrested this morning in New York City on charges of driving while stoned, the New York Post has reported.

    According to the story:

Simms, 29, of Nashville, was stopped while driving his 2009 Mercedes Benz through an NYPD Manhattan South Task Force checkpoint on W. Houston Street at 1:35 a.m., according to a source.

Simms reeked of mar1juana and admitted to officers he had smoked earlier in the car, a source said.

He also had red eyes, flushed face and slurred speech, sources added.

Simms spent this morning getting booked and awaiting arraignment at Manhattan Criminal Court on charges of operating a motor vehicle while impaired by mar1juana.

I think Mack was stoned for starting Simms in the Big 12 Championship game vs Colorado.

Driving stoned is so much different that driving drunk.
I drive and smoke weed all the time, never been in a car accident or been pulled over.

I'm sure it was for medicinal purposes due to his PTSD:

There are a lot of people who drive drunk and never get in accidents too. Just look at the numerous people who want to fight DWI charges on this board. Doesn't make it right because you haven't gotten into an accident, yet.
