After such a promising start to a new season, I think its more than clear that we are once again one of the worst teams in the NFL. Halfway through our 2nd season under Kubiak, I really haven't seen the drastic improvements I thought I would see. With that said, WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG W/ THIS FRANCHISE!! Please don't make this a thread about VY. For those that don't want to talk about it, just ignore the comments. For those that want to talk about it, start a another thread. Trying to have a legit discussion about the pile of crap that is the Texans. Thanks.
coaching coaching coaching.... Week in and out we are unprepared, outplayed and when given the opportunity, fail to develop new talent. Take this week for instance. Second half, down by a ton lets look to establish our offense and see about the new running back. Instead, steady doses of ron dayne. ugh.
I'm going to blame the coaches here. The mistakes (2nd most penalties in the NFL) speak for themselves. How in the world do you come into San Diego without a plan to prevent Antonio Gates from running wild and free all over the field? The disruption to the offense caused by injuries hasn't been helpful either.
bad personnel decisions compounded by indifferent coaching. Look at the offense for example - how many of those players are actually any good? The offensive line is a tragedy, the running backs are decrepit and you've one useful receiver - and he's hurt. Superb coaching can alleviate some of that, but your coaching has only been average and the players are performing exactly what you'd expect them to.
Lack of talent "every where" from the field to the sideline to the front office down to the concession stands.
Schaub and Green were big pickups this summer, but when you really go back and look at it...they might have been questionable moves at best. 2 second round picks for Schaub...Matt was no doubt the most heralded backup QB in the NFL. With that said, we sure gave up a lot of high picks and a lot of money for a guy with 3 starts. He's an upgrade over Carr, but that really isn't saying a whole lot. $$$ for Green. Ahman is by far the most talented back we've ever had. He's had injury problems in the past and this season has been no different. We don't have a running game what so ever and I don't blame Green for that, but his knee is banged up and the front office can't say they are suprised.
injuries, injuries, injuries, injuries, injuries, injuries, injuries, injuries, injuries, injuries, injuries, injuries, injuries, injuries, injuries, injuries, injuries, injuries. i'm not saying if everyone was healthy we'd be Super Bowl contenders, but we wouldn't look this bad. AJ, jacoby jones (who looks like he's running scared now since the injury), Mathis, Mckinney. it doesn't sound like much but each of those guys are an integral part of this team. but that's the offense. as for the defense, i don't kwon what what hell they're doing. no pressure on the qb whatsoever. we make every qb look like a hall of famer. maybe it's teh schemes. oh yea, that secondary is pretty ****ty too.
Kubiak has been dissapointing as a coach, both in personnel moves, and o nplay calling and clock management. There have been some real head scratchers on the field the last 2 yrs. I think we are seeing why he didn't get the job the first time. All of the teams that were in cap hell and rebuilding at the same time as us, are all starting to get good (Tennessee, Cleveland, etc...) while we still are awful. I'm beginning to think this team will never be any good.
