That looks amazing. I'm glad they're keeping it true to the originals and not taking it seriously. Glad Bruce Campbell is back.

Loved The Evil Dead. Wasn't interested in the remake because it looked like a generic horror film. Saw the Musical opening night in Austin and it was awesome.

I only vaguely remember the original movies when they came on UPN when I was younger. Do I have to go back and watch the movies again before I watch the series?

Yes, you must. The show starts after the third movie Army of Darkness. But if you're just in it for comedy and gore. I think you can follow it just on that. It's very Shaun of the dead type comedy. A lot of one liners from Ash.

You don't have to. but you should. Ash has an exposition moment in the first episode that spells out most of what you need to know, but without seeing the movies you won't get the nostalgia feels you'll get when they show things fron the movies. The only one you may be able to skip is Army of Darkness since they couldn't get the rights from the studio so that can't make any obvious references to it, but you should still see it just because it's awesome.
