[STARZ] Black Sails

Looks pretty cool

 

If they show as much t*** and gore as in Spartacus. I'll be watching.

 

What they gotta be black?!

 

This came up just as I began my pirate craze following Assassin's Creed 4.

Loves me some pirates.

 

A little slow, but this show has some seriously potential.

 

This seems like it's going to be as awesome as 'Spartacus:Blood and Sand'. I'm all in.

 

story wise, seems stupid. STARS wise, all sex, like Spartacus, meh

 

That's how I felt. Slow because they wanted to introduce us to the characters and background story.

I loved Spartacus, and I believe Black Sails had a better premiere episode. Didn't like the Spartacus premiere, almost didn't give the show a chance.

 

This is the only the reason I haven't gotten into that show. Despite everyone and their momma telling me how great this show is I'm still trying to get through the first couple episodes.

I think I liked the Black Sails premier, but I felt there was something missing. I'll give it a chance... Pirates are awesome.

I'm going to venture that Tones on Tail weren't the first to make use of shadow to make a face look like a skull.

 

I'm sure you're right, but there's more to the picture than just the idea of shadow on a face. All of the elements are similar.

I don't really care that Black Sails copied it. I might even like the series more because of it. Either way I'll be watching the series.

 

Rly hating this show. Very little action and the show moves so slow. How have they yet to set sail and do any pirating?

 

Perhaps that's the point. That pirating in that period was less glamorous than usually portrayed and consisted more of politics and subterfuge interspersed with the occasional wild island girl porking.

 

Maybe, but that's not interesting.
