It's been a couple days and we haven't heard anything new from China. Hope the talks are going well, I wonder how long the Rockets will negotiate before looking at other options? The good thing so many teams want the first pick that they might start a bidding war for it...

We might be a little spoiled by the constant stream of information over the last few weeks. One day without a news story's not cause for alarm. We should know soon enough if there's anything to worry about.

I thought I remember that the Rox put a deadline as to how long they wanted to negotiate for. I thought I remember it being 10 days or something (the original length of the trip). Does anyone recall this?

    Don't worry. Two possibilities:

1,Goldberg is not negotiating anything. He is a hostage there.
He did not have freedom to make phone calls.

2,Goldberg is working hard there by bribing chinese officals. He can not talk about this publicly to the medias.

There was never a deadline. On their first trip, they said they PLANNED on going for approximately 10 days, but it wasn't in reference to any given timeline.

I do find it curious how quiet it has been given Berman's report last week. I bet we'll hear something tonight. Just a hunch.

This is ridiculous. I'm going to get fired because I haven't been productive in weeks.

I'm relatively new and frequently miss the obvious, so someone please set me straight.

    1. It sounds like Doc. Rocket is the prophet or something. Is he officially deep throat of this website? (I just want to know when I'm up reading threads until 2 am, trying to catch up on what i missed).

    2. Same question for Jeff (since he is named "Clutch Crew")

I've gone from calling him Yao Manute Bradley Bol Ellison Ming, to being optimistic about his impact on defense and am now headed the wrong way again. Pat Riley, among others, have said that the agony of defeat is worse than the joy of victory. I feel that way too. I'll feel like crap if Ming is a bust. Try as I might, I can't see him as a franchise big man.

Somebody please give me a freaking pep talk about Ming. I need something like a top 10 list of reasons why Ming may be great.

Right now, I wish we had the No. 3 pick so that we could just draft Butler or Dunleavy (I'd go Butler). There would be no anxiety over that.

    AHHHHHHHHHH.

What about Jeff and Doc. Rocket being deep throat?

I need a better top 10 list than that.

OK, Rileydog, since everyone's playing "shun the rookie," here goes:

    1. Jeff is 2nd to Clutch as far as this website goes. Not that he's a moderator (I don't think), but he instigated the "Save the Rockets" campaign a couple years back and for that we all pay him homage. :)

    2. Doc Rocket is our Deep Throat. He obviously has ties to the Rox organization somehow, perhaps on the close periphery; if he was actually part of the Rox organization he'd have been "silenced" by now from posting his info. (Oeilpere is also good for inside info.)
