It is clear that Morey's decision this summer regarding the 1 guard spot will have significant implications on other possible offseason moves. Over and over, the issue of who will be our starting PG next year comes up in other threads about Bosh, LeBron, and the Draft, among other topics. Well, let's discuss what Morey should do about the PG position here.

So, who would you like to see starting at PG next year?

Aaron Brooks... unless we get a offer for a very valuable trade including Aaron Brooks in return for a great point guard, I doubt it would change up the lineup too much...

why is this even up for debate on this site?

Aaron Brooks will forever be the pg of this team unless we can get a really really really really really good trade for him. Otherwise he sits on our roster racking up points by the ton.

many feel aaron should be traded now because his trade value is very high, probably a little higher than his actual player value.. i personally feel he should be kept, as should lowry, i really like both of them as a tandem. but im assuming many feel one must be moved, and some believe it should be aaron.

I would only dangle Brooks out for trade if it meant getting Wade of James in a S&T. Otherwise no dice. Not in a package for Bosh. Not in a package for Boozer. Not in a package for Stoudemire. James/Wade are HUGE upgrades at their position (SF) whereas Bosh/Boozer/Stoudemire at PF is a minimal upgrade over Scola.

And since I truly doubt we'll be getting Wade or James, Brooks will stay. And if Brooks stays, he will start.

Brooks is obviously the starting PG unless he gets traded.

Why have our #1 scorer come off the bench?

I'll go against the grain here, I am a sale high kind of guy so I would dangle AB right now. Do I trade him for crap, NOPE but if a deal comes along that is to good to pass up then do it and either go out and acquire another PG with the MLE (Ray Felton) or if it has something to do with Ricky Rubio bring in a stop gap to split time with Lowry till 2011-12.

Saying all that, my money is on AB to be starting opening night 2010-11.

its not a matter of "who should start, brooks or lowry?" with both on the team..

the issue is would you be willing to trade brooks and have lowry start if it got us a "star" player this offseason..

You did, when you made this thread. If Brooks and Lowry are the only PGs we have on the team next season, there is no question its Brooks. You can't put Lowry out there with his lack of shooting with Yao.

Oh that just won't do, remember we can't acquire an elite pg because he hogs the ball to much and won't work in our system. :p

Kyle Lowry! Brooks can be the energizer bunny like Scott Brooks was.

No, i didn't, you're mistaken. We all know that Brooks is the starting PG when both of them are on the team, have you not been watching for the past year and a half? Who is the starter jevon? Brooks. That is obvious. BUT, Brooks is a very valuable trade chip. Would you want to trade him, leaving Lowry to start? Or would you trade Lowry instead? Or keep both? That has implications on who should start next year.

    Hope you understand now

As long as we don't trade him, it will be AB without a doubt.
