what do you guys think of starting piatkowski and bringing mobley off the bench? i wouldnt mind giving him around 20 minutes and giving mobes the majority of the time. i think hes much more effective with his selfish game and poor shot selection coming off the bench. i wouldnt mind seeing hawkins start at the 3, either. francis, pike, hawk, taylor, ming start with mooch, mobley, rice, griffin, and cato off the bench. not a bad team to me.

Here is our starting line-up IMO.

    Steve
    Cat
    Boki
    Eddie
    Yao

I don't see Pike as a starter. I think he can come in and be a very good zone buster with his shooting and might even see significant minutes but Cat is a much better rounded player. As far as I know Pike can not or does not play defense.

I agree with crash. If we don't make any more moves (a big if), then that's what the lineup will be.

Pike's main job will be backing up Cat. And Rice and him will backup Boki. (If Boki turns out to be a bust, they'll trade Rice to get someone competent at the 3.) If they want some defensive stop, they can bring in Hawkins.

Somebody mentioned somewhere that Pike played some PG for the Clippers. Is that true? Can he get some of Moochie's minutes?

For years with the Clippers, Piatkowski was in and out of the starting lineup. Only in the last couple of years was he predominantly on the bench. I've gotta say, he's much better coming off the bench. I've seen him come in and just freakin' light it up from 3-point land. I think he'll fit in well -- if Mobley's having one of his off nights, Piatkowski can hopefully still give us production from the 2.

Glen Rice is starting, and Boki is the 9th or 10th man off the bench.

i'm sick and tired of hearing about freakin bostjan nachbar and how he will be a breakout player and a starter next year. HE SUCKS! i'll be damned if he starts next year. he was given plenty of chances in garbage time during games to at least score a few points, but he couldn't even do that. he also had a chance to bust out in the summer leagues, but he only did that in one game... and that's on a team with unknowns like kyle hill and tito maddox being our best players. i really have NO clue why everyone likes him... once next seasons passes by, you will see how much he sucks.

pleeaase.. bostjan nachbar on our starting lineup... i would pick rice or pike over him anyday

sadly, among Boki, Rice and Pike, Boki is the defensive standout, and I use that term loosely. It is entirely possible that Boki becomes a starter this year. JVG will prioritize defense above all else.

Hopefully the aquisition of Pike will bring Moochie back to his previous self. That would produce the following line up.

    5 Yao/ Cato
    4 MoT/EG
    3 Rice/Boki/3 guard offense
    2 Cat/Pike
    1 SF/Moochie

If Moochie doesn't return to his old self, then Pike can fill in at pg too.

You know, we've been pretty hard on The Mooch but seriously...

I think if Mooch can play like he did during his contract year, we've got a pretty good rotation. Maybe add Badine (sp?) to the 4 rotation if he makes the team. That will at least give us at least 6 more fouls to work with.

I'm not convinced that Rice and Boki will be the only 3's on the team when the season starts. Something else is in the works...

While I think that line up is realistic, I too am waiting for the BIG SPLASH!
