1. The Rockets have a problem at selvishness with guards. Thats why breaking them up makes sence. Mobley may have alot of great positive things like (defence, scorer) but hes not what the rox's need. (EX: Carter and Tracy were broken up in Toronto) So we need to make a choice : Is it Francis or Mobley? Mobley.

Trade : Mobley for Brent Barry Straight up! Its works salary.

2. Make sure you are right with James Posey, what ever you can do to get him back next year. He won't opt out of his last year.(Which i think i heard somewhere hes going to stay! Which is great!)

3. Brent Barry can play Pg, and probably wouldn't be a scorer type but a playmaker who can complement Francis well, and his whole team. He shoots 3pg's perfect(88%), and remember guys he can dunk? Hes like a great all around player the rockets need. So with this Francis can maintain the SG Position and just think score. Or let Francis play the point and hope he can be less selvish since he knows barry won't need the ball all the time like mobley.

4. With the 4.5 Million, contact Jon Barry and ask him if he would like to sign the league exception and play with his bro. He will easily join a team with Yao/Francis/Posey/His Bro.....

5. To make sence of the Pg backup, contact Charlie Ward and see if he would sign the Vetrans salary to help the rockets. He could help them and would love to play along side old coach JVG.

6. Let Bostjan Nacbar play atleast 25 Mins, spliting up time with James Posey. Posey could play some SG as well. Rice needs less time.......(BAH ON Rice, hes crap.)
888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888
Players who must stay regardless:
Ming,Griffin,Cato,Posey,Francis,Nacbar,Hawkins,Taylor (Since Rice is out next year we should just keep him and with his contract up after next season we could sign a nice Small Foward,Or Power Forward.)

Rockets Roster :
Steve Francis Maurice Taylor Glenn Rice
Yao Ming Kelvin Cato J.Hawkins
Brent Barry Jon Barry INJ: Terence Morris
James Posey Charlie Ward INJ: Malick Badiane
Eddie Griffin Bostjan Nacbar

- I stand firm on these 6 moves over the summer to get the rockets where they want to be.(Period) And trading Cuttino Mobley for Brent Barry is not breaking up the team at all. Thats one simple change, and adding two great players in Jon Barry and Charlie Ward, who not only will be great additions, but could carry this lineup to competing with alot of great teams. Letting Bostjan Nacbar playing more, and letting him develop.

Makes any sense? Thanks........

No, if Van Gundy doesn't want to break them up, then I think I'll trust his opinion over yours. Our guards aren't selfish either. How does Mobley average 4 less shots this past season and still play the same amount of minutes yet still he's branded with the term selfish?

Why would the Sonics want Cat anyway when they already have Ray Allen. I guess he could be a 6th man because his contract isn't too big. Other than that I just don't see why the Sonics would want him.

Look at APG. Barry is way better player than Mobley anyways. The real question is if Barry/Mobley will go down. Im sure seattle would love Mobley as their six man. Thats why i think seattle could do this. JVG has already has this in his head after looking at Mobley, he might like mobley but hes knows if this trade was proposed he wouldn't secound guess pulling the gun. JVG knows Brent can play better defence and assist the team better.

That moved worked out great for Toronto...

The Rockets guards are not selfish!!!* They were just executing Rudy's (lack of) offensive gameplan. New coach = new game plan. Wait and see.

I agree w/ drummer 2k. I think this year should be just a wait and see type of thing. I really feel like Van Gundy is the change the Rockets need.

LOL , True True..

Well if they keep Cuttino, atleast consider Barry in the Middle of the season if Cuttino/Francis are having problems still. Mobley takes alot of brick shots. Yea a SG, Should't wouldn't have alot of APG, but i think mobley is not the right fit for a Lineup the Rockets have.(Rockets have too to many scorers on this team, they need role players ex.Jon and Brent, and Ward, Boki)

Steve Francis is not a PG!! Everyone knows that. Brent Barry could be a better PG, and i think he showed it with seattle when Ray Allen was playing SG.

But if the trade wont go down at all, atleast sign Jon Barry and Charlie Ward!

I'm not saying Barry is a better player than Mobley or vice-versa. I know that Barry might be a better fit on our team than Mobley, but you have to think about what Seattle wants too. If Ridnour doesn't workout Barry will be their only PG. I just don't see why Seattle would want to do this when they already have Ray Allen. How do you know what JVG has in his head anyway?

Answer is because once the ball is in Mobleys hands there is about 90% chance that it will stay there till he makes or forces a shot. He is the one that is refered to, by fans, as a black hole.He doesnt trust Yao Ming and on many occasions when Yao Ming has been open and calling for the ball Mobley declines to pass it.JVG might sort this out but its going to be a very difficult job!
Ps I dont expect any big chan!ges

Are you Rick Berry? Brent is good, but he isn't way better than mobley. Jon won't sign just because we trade for his brother, it is about the dollar bill. The rockets can pick up a guard anywhere. We need a tough rebounding bully maniac and defensive specialist to play bodyguard for Yao, and hopefully his toughness sets the tone, for Yao and the rest of the group. Stop analyzing needs and lets' just see what we have, with a top notch coach.

WTF?

Didn't read the whole thread, so I'm not gonna bash nor praise it. But this just caught my eye.

Are you saying Brent Barry shoots 3pointers at an 88% clip?

i don't think seattle would do mobley for barry straight up. i think seattle knows that the league regards barry very highly. for a guy his size to be able to play pg and shoot is pretty rare.

And just for the record, the guard tandem in Toronto wasnt broken up. McGrady signed with another team.

Trading away our stars for decent role players is not going to help us get to the finals. Plus, has anyone noticed Barry doesn't play a lick of defense. When he was with Miami he was one of their most skilled offensive players and he was still young with very high potential but Riley couldn't afford to play him because he couldn't guard the chair i'm sitting in....I've been waiting to say that.

I think the best move could be move Cat to the bench! Start Posey at the 2 spot , PUT T-MO or Boki at the 3spot . Posey
is a tall long good defender who pressure his man on defense.
T- Mo or Boki will have step up and let the best player start at the
3. Leave Glen Rice to come off of the bench with Cat , Taylor,Cato

I like the trade proposal that sends Mobley for Brent.

I'm not sure the Sonic team would be willing to give up Brent for Mobley. Brent is clearly the more efficent player and a better team player.

This team is so good. If you only knew.

Why would the Sonics want Mobley? Cuttino could be a great backup scorer for the Sonics, and with Rookie, they could use their exception for a PG Like maybe Antonio Daniels who would start for them. Hey this is a 80% chance not going to happen but i think if houston wanted it to happen they could. Along with obtaining Ward, and Brents bro Jon. I just like the brothers on the same team, looks good for the team and the league.

This is a more realistic trade, that they could pursue not like trades i see on here, which are basicly dreams.

STOP DREAMING!
