Start Luis, Carl with Deke Chuck off the Bench

I really think this line up can be effective. All the EPSN and SI people are forgetting when being the focal point Luis averaged 20/10 against team USA. I really think it's his time to shine. Carl is also super efficient with Chuck and Deke being reinforcer's off the bench.

Were going to miss Yao, but we've got depth and RA's system allows us to weather his absence. Maybe not completely but we can still compete with teams out there. I think we can beat any East team still, I only worry about SA, Phoenix, and LA. Our sched for the rest of the season isn't that difficult and were a good defensive team overall.

The offense BJ brings for the 2nd unit was a blessing in disguise.

I think RA will handle this on a game by game basis. There are some teams you can get away with Landry/Scola/Hayes as your starting big men and others you can't.

I think we should start Deke and Scola, Bring Landry and Chuck off the bench because Landry gives some offense off the bench and deke would not.

Bringing Deke and Chuck off the bench is asking for trouble. If anything, either Deke or Chuck start the game with Luis.

Deke should start alongside Scola. Hayes subs in for Deke, and Landry for Scola. That way we'll still have both a scorer and rebounder/defensive presence in the post. Bringing both Deke and Hayes off the bench is a bad idea IMO, because both of them cannot be relied on to score.

Well, at least we'll be a faster team.

We'll finally matchup well with the Jazz - No more Yao on Boozer matchup nightmare!

I hope Scola and Landry start as well. Bring Hayes in as a backup. Those three guys should be able to play near 96 minutes.

Deke should remain in pine for most of the game unless the Rockets are playing a team that actually has an old school center. Novak should also get spot minutes.

Giving Deke heavy minutes now scares me a bit. We have to save him for the playoffs, yes the playoffs. As of right now I think the rotation should be Scola, Landry and Hayes... and Deke in special situations.

Hmm, that is true. However, I wouldn't mind Deke going berserk and dropping a few elbows.

I'd actually go with Carl + deke in the starting lineup, Scola/hayes backup. Depending on the matchups. If they have strong big men, hayes starts in place of deke. If they have athletic/quick big men, deke starts. If they have shooting big men, Scola starts in place of Landry.

I agreed. Play Carl and Scola where Carl as guard and Scola as centre just like when he is the Argentine team. Occasionally if it didn't work then play Mutombo.

with their slow speed, they will all foul out by the end of the first quarter.

Correct. You have can't have Deke and Chuck in at the same time, becuase you would be limiting your offense to 3 players. Yao, Deke and Chuck have terrible hands, so it's hard to even dish it off to those two on a drive into the paint without them fumbling it out of bounds. Teams would play off of them and force us to play from the perimiter. I don't have a problem with Scola and Landry being on the floor at the same time, but not Deke and Chuck, they have to be split up.

I have a feeling that we will all be amazed by season's end at how well the team as a whole has responded to adversity.

That being said, I think Slick Rick will shuffle the lineup according to the match ups on a game by game basis.

But starting Deke and Scola will probably be the most common of the options.

Our depth has improved much since this time last year... and Heaven help us, barring no further injuries we may still witness a miracle. :)

I imagine Chuck and Deke on the court at the same time will be rare. Not only will there be little scoring from those 2, but essentially the defense will be playing 5 on 3, cheating off of Chuck/Deke, making scoring even more difficult for whoever else is on the court.

That's exactly why I want to face the Jazz in the playoffs.

Scola and Hayes or Deke to start depending on matchups.

You don“t want Deke+Hayes coming off the bench unless TMAC is ON FIRE!
