Chuck with his desire and youth grabbed 10 boards (6 offensive) against the Miami Heat, a team with superior rebounders (Haslem and Shaq).

Our starting PF, only had 1 board in 29 minutes.

Shake up the lineup JVG. Shake it like salt shaker.

For once I agree with the tinman. I appreciate your mid-range jumper Juwan, but we need rebounding more than we do your 10 points.

you gotta remember that Juwan does play pretty well with Yao, so I wouldnt change it up just yet.........besides Chucky has been finishing up games anyways, getting a solid 25 minutes, not bad, besides he'd foul out quicker if he started.........

No, start dudes who get paid more. Contracts are the ultimate indicator of performance.

The problem is that Chuck Hayes has no offensive game. At least Juwan can knock down that 18 footer with regularity. Too bad the Rockets can't merge the two players.

Regardless of whether Van Gundy goes with Juwan or Chuck, Stro's ass needs to be parked on the bench. He looked lost out there today.

The one thing that Swift needs is desire to play the game of basketball. It's a shame to say, but he just doesn't have the same motivation for the ball as Hayes has.

Let Hayes start, even if its at SF. Let Swift see that if he doesn't start putting his heart into the game, he's not going to get any minutes.

    Maybe a lineup of:
    Yao/Deke
    Howard/Baxter/Swift
    Hayes/Anderson/Tmac
    Tmac/Wesley
    Alston/Sura

At least for certain parts of the game.

We could use his 3- point shooting right now.

Bowen's defense and hustling are more valuable.

sorry to break the string of ex-Rockets pics, but I think hayes is better suited off the bench...he brings energy and hustle and could really give our second unit a lift with his defensive intensity...

Now would be a great time to test that theory of having a PF next to Yao to protect his @$$ and rebound. Purple Hayes! Yao and Mac dominate the offense, Rafer, Dwes add some points.

Then bring JHo and Stro off the bench for offense when Yao or Mac are sitting. Pick the best one for the matchup. Put Deke in for rebounding.

Mix Baxter & Head in as needed.

Hope that someday, perhaps this season, that at least one of DA, Barry and Sura can possibly crawl onto the court and play 5-10 minutes. Bobby I understand, but when are DA and Barry scheduled for season ending calf surgery?

    Per earlier poster:

"No, start dudes who get paid more. Contracts are the ultimate indicator of performance"

Seems like the tail wagging the dog. We need the best player on the floor. Right now though I agree Hayes should come off the bench as a spark plug.

I like Hayes a lot and what he brings to the table. And I think he should get decent minutes because of it. However I think he is best utilized off the bench to bring in some energy to the second unit. I am still fine with Howard starting the game or if you want a change up put Swift in there and try to give him some early confidence so he can help the team throughout the game.
