When Micheal Jordan came into the league, he wasn't really compared to anyone. Same with Dream, no one could say, man he spins and fakes like someone else. I see the same traits with Stevie, he is different from everybody else, he isnt a clone and that is one of the things that will seperate him from regular stars. He is himself not a clone. I write this because when people compare Stevie to other people it makes no sense. Think about it, there is no person in the leauge like him. ------------------ Rockets games are like a box of chocolates, you never know whacha your gonna get.
true but you also gotta consider he may be compared to some other basketball player in the past ------------------
I just really cant think of anyone Steve plays like. ------------------ Rockets games are like a box of chocolates, you never know whacha your gonna get.
This is a GREAT observation. I just hope that Steve has as good a career as dream and MJ. DaDakota ------------------
HOw about Allen Iverson who can pass? ------------------ "There are two rules for success... 1) Never tell everything you know."
KJ was a great point guard but he didn't have the powerful slams that Stevie does. ------------------ please venture to atheistalliance and rocketsonline I AM SPARTACUS
Exactly, im just saying there is always something about Stevie that sets him apart. ------------------ Rockets games are like a box of chocolates, you never know whacha your gonna get.
DEANBCURTIS, So, that HUGE dunk KJ had over Hakeem wasn't powerful? He wasn't exactly the high flyer Francis is, but who's to say Francis can keep it up year after year? ------------------ I have a dream.........his name's Hakeem. DREAMer's Rocket Page
I think steve is gonna be better then all the players mentioned for one reason. It's always a different reason, but he always hass something that player didn't or doesn't have. MJ was good, but his passing skills were limited unlike francis. KJ was good, but didn't have the dunks or the flash francis has. I could go down the list from stockton to payton. If francis ever becomes a good defensive player and/or good leader, he might become the best PG in NBA history. (Well ya i'm biased). ------------------ "There are two rules for success... 1) Never tell everything you know."
Of course there's gonna be something that separates Steve from other people. There's ALWAYS going to be something different about Stevie from other people. Yes Stevie isnt a clone, but who exactly is? There's never gonna be somebody who has exactly the same game as someone else. That doesnt mean that they're gonna be big stars or anything. How many Iversons are there? How many Dermarr Johnsons are there? How many Vince Carters are there? Sure there are players that play SIMILARLY to these players, but just like Francis, there is always something or somethings that separate them from everyone else. Just cuz Stevie doesnt play exactly like someone else doesnt mean that he's going to be a major star. ------------------ treasurer of the moochie norris fan club
When KJ's career died, it was reincarnated in Steve Francis. My sources at Psychic Friends Network have confirmed this. Steve Francis is KJ. ------------------
I compare him to Marbury only Steve passes more. ------------------ You ain't gotta like me, you just mad cause I tell it how it is, and you tell it how it might be.
WOW! SOmeone thinks Steve will end up being better than MJ. That is a REALLY bold statement. I won't say it isnt possible, but it will be very difficult. Steve may pass better, but he has yet to score better or paly defense as good or be as CLUTCH. If Steve can become CLUTCH, then I think he will become one of the best ever. That is why there are some many Kobe comparisons with MJ. As muchas I hate him, the kid was major CLUTCH during the payoffs. ALso, MArbury averaged 8.4 assits last year while Steve averaged only 6.6. But numbers are deceptive. Marbury is MUCH more of a ball hog, I agree! ------------------ When I die I want to go peacefully like my grandfather. Not screaming like the passengers in the back seat!
Kenny Smith used to dunk. Then he mellowed out and stuck to being a point guard. The comparisons are hard to ignore. Kenny got 2nd place in the dunk contest, what, twice? Plus he was a Rocket as an added bonus... I think we've found a match... ------------------ "There are three kinds of lies: Lies, Damned Lies, and STATISTICS..." - Mark Twain -
