Not the most original topic, but I can't remember any recent threads that might be similar. To me, there are few things more entertaining than great stand-up. I've been through all the classics (Carlin, Murphy, Martin, Cosby, Pryor, etc) and the best of modern era (Rock, Chappelle, Seinfeld, etc) BUT when it comes to up-and-coming comedian(ne)s, I don't exactly have my ear to the streets. So post the names (and/or youtubes) of your favorite comedians that are on the rise/less well-known. And because I love some good hateration, feel free to mention comedians I should avoid and why.
Louis CK is one of my favorite comedians right now. He's coming to Houston sometime in November. Yea, Louie CK is great. His show on FX is the best thing on TV. The stand up on his show is aight, but the sketches are great. Louis C.K., again Brian Regan Zach Galifianakis (try Live at the Purple Onion) The Comedians of Comedy is consistently good. Jeremy Hotz is one I wanted to get big, but he never caught on. Jim Gaffigan's kind of fallen off for me.

Mitch Hedberg (RIP) Jim Gaffigan has some good bits. Zach Galifinakis is hilarious in the video posted earlier in this thread. Jo Koy is someone I've recently discovered. His one hour special was hilarious.
no, I've never seen him do sitcom, hopefully it's better than his stand-up. He just seems like he tells stories and gets side tracked with other BS stories, none of which are funny. He is always smiling like he's leading us up into something really, really big and nothing ever develops. I think he thinks its funny to tell us that he told somebody else 'f you'. not funny.
LL - Agree with you about Louie's new show. It is outstandingly funny. The Heckler scene from the previous episode was superb. Aziz is a champion of delivery. He's kind of a little too celebrity obsessed at times but he still gets lulz from me from when he tells his stories. Patton Oswalt is hysterical. Zachy of course is an extremely funny guy.
