This morning I dropped my girlfriend off at IAH for her weekly Continental flight up to Chicago. She called me while I was driving back downtown and told me Yao was on her plane. She said he was wheeled on and that even sitting down, he was taller than she is... she's only 5'1", so that's not surprising though. No pictures, so there's no Rockhead award. I'll bet that pryuen or another Yao stalker could verify.

Good for Yao! He's fying up to Chicago to support the team. :)

How does Yao fit in a regular commercial plane?

Why the hell Yao had to goto Chicago to support team in a wheel chair? Gotta be for something else.

John Huizinga, Yao's agent and a leading member of Team Yao, is a professor at the University of Chicago. Maybe Yao is making the trip to see him? (on second thought, this is probably a bad guess since everything between them could be done over the phone)

And shouldnt be it the way around? I know UofC economics is a pretty big deal, but Huizinga should be the one visiting his billionare employer, Yao, espcially he is crippled now.

If you had your head on straight this morning ;) you should have ask your girlfriend to ask Yao what he is up to.

My instinct tells me that Yao is SECRETLY flying up to Chicago to pick up a special little puppy to surprise his girlfriend :D

He probably is going to root on the team. Logistically you don't want him going to both the back to backs because that's a lot of travel, on the plane, to the hotel etc. But with the Bulls game, he can just go to the game, root the team on, and then fly back on the team plane.

Well, I seriously doubted about WHO your girl friend really saw.

If Yao Ming could take a plane, why he only joined the team at Chicago ? He should have joined them at Minnesota.

Also, with all these Chinese reporters based in Houston, if Yao Ming did fly out to Chicago, WHY there had not been any coverage in the Chinese websites ?

Moreover, I don't think seriously injured players are allowed to travel to risk aggravating their injuries. He can rave and support his team by showing up in Toyota Centre, surely not by travelling around with his crutches.

Damn, can't a man go where he wants, hurt or not? I doubt he's in any danger of making it worse, if he's doing light workouts on the leg itself.

How many 7'8" Chinese guys in a wheelchair do you think are rolling onto flights to Chicago?

I'm pretty sure she saw Yao.

Are they not supposed to fly private planes? Maybe, just maybe, your girl friend saw Yao's wax figure
