Two totally different issues here. Since I'm basically requesting information for personal use, decided I'd combine them so as not to annoy everyone too much :D.

    1. I'm doing a game theory analysis of stadium proposals. While I'm focusing on the recent Rockets stadium situation, other recent stadium situations will also be addressed.

If you've saved articles on any recent ones, or know of good web sites, please post them here or email them to me at mendola@bc.edu.

    2. I'm moving to Austin next year, and I've narrowed down my apartment search. However, I won't have a chance to actually be in Austin prior to booking an apartment. So if you happen to have ever driven by/been to Pecan Grove Apartments, could you tell me what you thought of the complex?

    Thanks guys...

"Pecan Grove" sounds like they're expensive apartments...

Of course, this is Austin we're talking about, so EVERY apartment is expensive...

My price-range is pretty much under $700. I'll be a poor law school student :D.

Pecan Grove isn't too bad... the model I want is $610, I think.

A-train: Austin may be bad, but coming from Boston, it's heaven.

Junior year, I lived off-campus... my roommate and I got a two bedroom dump for the tune of $1450 a month. Oh, and parking? Another $100 a month on top of that. No air conditiong either. Iffy heating. Paper thin walls.

Austin real estate is paradise in comparison!

I assume you're looking on-line? That may not be the best way to go about it, even though you've really got no other choice. I looked at Pecan Grove, but didn't really like it. It's fairly close to campus, but I really think you can do better for the money. Believe it or not, you can get some crazy ass good deals in Austin right now.

E-mail me if you wish, and I'll tell you about some of the apartments and people I've used...I'm at job #2 right now, and don't really have the time right now.

I lived in Pecan Grove, 5200 N Lamar for 1 1/2 year (98-99). They are alright. Best if you live alone as they aren't that big, reasonable price & close (enough) to most everything..but as alwyas, don't expect to much from your land lord, and get top (3rd) floor if you can as the walls/floors, as I remember are pretty thin.

    hope this helps
